Honestly OP can you imagine how this game would be if ZERO people complained about it, just kept to themselves and never said anything detracting from it ?

While i agree the large amount of complaints we all tolerate is huge.... don't you think there is a reason for it ?

Go and read any of the reviews out there for this game and you will see why.

Thus formed the "Naked Booty-Bay Gnome Brigade" It only took about twenty minutes until the massive gnome madness caused the server to crash and Blizzard got the point. The warriors were addressed in the very next patch with a warning label. "Warriors did it, don't redo it or suffer punishment."

Long story short. People will always complain when unhappy, just enjoy yourself if you do and don't listen to the problems of others ^.^. Where there is someone having fun, there is always someone being miserable. Yin-Yang basically.
I remember that. Pity such a tactic only works once... that, and you really can't have a thousand pink-haired gnome hunters running about... Granted, my issues with hunters were less about how broken they at times were and more about how SOME members of that class gave good reason to be called huntards...

It is an MMO and there will always be more people in Forums complaining then complimenting, that is just the way things work. Part of the problem is that the people that are happy with a game, dont bother to come to the forums. But the complainers and whiners, even if they are fewer, always spend more time on forums doing their thing.

    2. Complaints never cease (see 1).

    3. Complaints are, even though you seemingly do not feel so, able to have an affect on improving the game. I can cite the initial plans in the upcoming patch to make area chat on by default. Many complaints went out and they've changed it to being off by default. (see 1).

    4. You're complaining about people complaining(ie a typical hypocritical occurence on mmo forums(see 1).
You are being fair, however I am not so much complaining as much as I was wanting to know when I should try and come back to the forums for anything besides the gripes. I hesitated to post the question for the fear that this would be the typical response, but I really wanted to know the answer. I guess if I was an MMO gamer, then I could be a hypocrite. However, I was actually looking for an answer to an honest question

I'd like to point out that there's a difference between whining and making constructive criticism. Both fall under 'complaints', but only one is really annoying. I would note, though, that it has gotten better on these forums since launch. That's progress!

Like I said, I don't have a problem with the complaints so much as the fact that every forum is clogged with them. There seems to be a place for them. However, after the response I got, I now have the answer to my question.

Also, i know the game has not gotten glowing reviews, but I am enjoying it, and that is really all I care about. I have not had any problems myself, but That probably comes from never having played an MMO

Half the people who play this game are whiners. Its extremely annoying but it is possible to get over.

There will ALWAYS be complaining whining, crying, *****ing, moaning, and vast amounts of e-peen stroking in all gaming forums. It's been that way for decades, and in my opinion seems to get worse each year. WoW forums are a cancer. I thought it would get better in GW2, and it's almost as bad. There are beta forums where people complain that it's not a finished game. People complain on Steam forums that pre-order bonuses aren't enough. People complain about Kickstarter campaigns.

It's the internet. You make people anonymous, and all hell breaks loose. It seems sooooo much harder for people to post praise than to cry like babies that they aren't given enough.

I've been really impressed with how Trion is handling this launch. There are ALWAYS launch week hickups and problems. Trion is recognizing all of them, and fixing them as fast as they can, they best they can, and in order of priority. Want more content? It's coming, but not before we work on connection issues and items disappearing issues. Like the game or not, Trion is doing a great job so far.

But you would never know it by reading the forums......

And just to be clear, games need feedback. Constructive criticism and suggestions are what developers live for. But there is a HUGE difference between constructive criticism and entitled *****ing and whining. For every well-written, calm, intelligent critical post written, there are 20 cry-baby-wet-pants rants. OP is just calling it like he sees it.

I have not really played an MMO before, so I guess I am just wondering how long it generally takes to get past all of the sludge
    Great thread, informative and constructive...

Way to whine, complain, and name call

Complainers are like kids throwing a tantrum you have to just let them have their fit tire themselves out dont worry they will get tired soon im guessing after the next patch fixes a few of the complaints. You'll find them curled up in their cribs sucking their thumbs soon enough

After the patch im guessing you'll still have a few no progression threads and quads handle like a quadriplegic in a bouncy house filled with fat kids....
I would step over your still bleeding corpse for my morning coffee!
