uhm....maybe I'm simple or something but if you have your doubts than don't pre order and wait till release.....hell most places will refund your money even if you do preorder.....I dont get it what's the big deal? if the game turns out to be a dud than get your money back and move on to the next one...there's more to worry about in life than if a game is going to be great or not.

I don't buy the it's the TV show excuse. Even if there are things in the game that relate to the events in the show, How would we know? We haven't seen the show yet to know who or what they are talking about... Besides turning quest content off is a simple thing. At launch the concerns are more global to game play, and class or in Defiance's case ability balance.

The Game is 36 Days from Launch. To still be under an NDA at this point is worrisome to those of us familar with the MMO genre. At this point if you want a clean launch you should be pretty much done with global mechanics. You should be stress testing and balance testing at worst.

It's possible that they are and have decided that it's better to have things revealed at launch. Hopefully that is the case, but as someone who has been playing MMOs since EQ, It makes me nervous.

I never said anyone forced me to pay 180$, that was my decision and I stand by it, I was just pointing out the fact that the game is 2 1/2 weeks from release, I've never seen a game release with this big of an uncertainty to it, we get posts here constantly of people asking the same questions, some get answered some don't, there was a big post about people being unsure if their would even be Guilds in at launch. Which I believe was resolved when someone got a PM from Lance.

What games are you referring to? Having alpha/beta tested plenty of MMO's I think they've actually given the community lots of information. Between the live streams and information on the website there really isn't that much still "in the dark" so to speak. Yes you may not have every particular, but release is still 3 weeks away. GW2 didn't lift their NDA until it actually had the small open beta very shortly before release, and still those of us that alpha tested and saw more of the higher tier things couldn't discuss them until after the release.

there is no such thing as a "clean launch" in the mmo industry. there are always problems. and i would bet any money this wont be an exception, purely because its always the case.

the NDA im sure has more reason beyond the tv show, im just suggesting that as A reason. Trion (as im sure you are aware) are old hands at this. they know the risk of not release inthe NDA, they will also know a lack of pre-orders will happen because of it. so im sure they have their reasons.

wether its to do with the tv side of things, or because they are always making changes and dont wish to get into trouble. bare in mind this is a TPS, so balancing will most likely be taking place right up to the final day. i can see a ton of people crying for refunds, because inthe open beta their favourite weapon got nerfed. because although alot of people have the intellect to realise whats a beta, there is just as many who treat it as a demo.

especially since apparently, we meet Jeb Nolan and Irisa, the two main protagonists of DtS, almost immediately after character creation.

main concern is regional/international connectivity/play-ability with other "friends" per consoles. Gonna make a big difference if 1/2 of your friends are unable to play.
Also, why is the shard system so different, what is wrong with designated servers? wouldnt that foster a better "rivalry" between sides per se? Also have a cause and affect on a world scale, instead of "im done w this shard, im gone to another". Its like bar hoping without getting to know the regulars of one.
