Ahh ok so the game is actually in closed beta. There was nothing stating that unless I just looked over it. So I can play right away then right?
Also, if it is closed beta, does anyone know if your data will be wiped pre-release.
The game currently has 2 forms, Alpha & Beta.
Alpha
- Constantly running (Still running today)
- Invite only
- Constantly updated and primarily for Devs to test
Beta
- Runs from Date A to Date B
- Invite only/Closed Beta
- Not Updated
- Primarily for players to find bugs or stress test servers.
- Last beta event has ended and the date for the next event has yet to be announced.
I'm guessing if they do it like most games are doing, and how they did it before Rift if I remember correctly, usually they'll have a short open beta just before release for everyone to play around with a bit.
I feel like they need to just switch to closed beta 24/7 now. 3 weeks is the perfect amount of time for a beta. I feel like it would bring in a lot of new pre-orders if people knew they could start playing the beta instead of waiting for some undetermined date for a beta that goes 2 days.
An alpha and NDA 3 weeks from launch is really suspicious to a lot of people. If I didn't know Trion's penchant for quality, I'd be worried too. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who have never played a Trion game and don't have that faith in the company.
id like an invite open beta; like ghost recon future solider did, you needed the disk from splinter cell conviction. you could play on line mp.
this of course would be for consoles

even drones can fly away

Joshua: A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.
