Activating side missions right from the map?

This idea just popped in my head when I was setting a waypoint to a side mission. I think it'd be nice to be able to activate the side mission right from the map. Just move the map cursor to whatever mission you'd like to do, press A (or whatever you press for your particular platform) to bring up the description, and then A again to activate it.

I don't know how easy that would be to implement, but I just thought I'd throw that out there because I feel like that would be much easier than having to drive to every side mission on the map to activate it.

I'm not attacking you, but driving around the world is a feature that the devs rely heavily upon. It adds a certain atmosphere to the game that they are going for.

I understand that activating from the map would not completely remove all driving, but it would remove a sense of free roam. It might work it might not, but I personally like driving around and finding all those random encounters.
