It's a flawed system, dont disagree with that but every game is in the same boat so you cant be giving one an advantage over all the rest. Reviewers will be competing to get a review out early and get the hits on their pages so they blitz through as much as they can in a short space of time and write their experiences down from there. Who cares about a review in 7 months time?

Games also rely partially on the early reviews to get a second bout of sales after the pre-orders. This game, on the strength (or lack of) or its release wont be getting much. If Trion had waited for a few more months for devs to concentrate solely on getting content in the game then we'd be seeing the big name reviewers putting down 7's and 8's instead of 5's and 6's.

6/10 sounds about right. It might even be a little generous.

Metacritic is a joke to me. Anyone can post their opinion and affect the score. Its not objective at all.

But what I see when going to all of Defiances platform pages - is a majority of high scores from happy *players* and thats what counts. Screw the reviewers - anyone who doesnt experience something they may be interested in - ONLY because someone else told you they thought it was bad - well, thats just limiting yourself (and dumb) in my opinion. Remember - opinions are like ***holes...

Is that why so many think Defiance stinks?

Eh... I guess some of that is true, however, the system is a lot more flawed than that. For Instance, Bioshock Infinite won 80 Awards and got a 10/10 on reviews... i beat it in 2 days (all 50 achievements). Reviewers need to stop only taking into consideration the possible flawed mechanics and take into consideration thinks like Replay Value, Game Time, Innovation... thinks that truly make a game new. I personally gave Bioshock Infinite a 7 because of its massive lack of Replay Value and Time playing.
I don't always fight for whats right... i fight to be whats left.

No point in arguing with the blind fans here.
They will defend this game because they spent 'X' amount of dollars on it (like we all did) and there is no way it can be bad.

Sure people can enjoy this game. People enjoy all sorts of things that others dont. However, looking at the MAJORITY of people - and no not the majority of people on this Forum. They are finding the game to be coming up short - All major game companies and a hell of a lot of people who you wont be seeing voice their opinion (because they are not wasting their time with it).
A game reviewer takes a lot into consideration. I dont always agree with them, but i take into consideration the factors they are basing their opinion off and compare them to my own.
#1 complaint for most - This game does not scratch an itch for shooting, and it does not scratch an itch an MMOrpg.
Some people just settle for mediocre and good for them. I have higher standards and the only reason im on these forums is to see if Trion will actually turn this game around (because its only their second game and they did make a decent MMOrpg their first try) we can all be hopeful, but im not buying into the fanboy hype.
Dont bother running, you will only die tired.

There are bad reviews because the game isn't conforming to the casual expectations of the CoD crowd and whatnot. In other words, they bad at game, so bad review.
