If it's THE most popular/recognized video game song, it has to unquestionably be the Mario Bros 1 main theme. The Legend of Zelda overworld isn't far behind that, either.
Your spacing of duhs doesn't sync up with either, though. Then again people interpret things differently, so maybe you are referring to one or the other.
Besides those, the only one near that echelon that comes to mind is the Final Fantasy fanfare... and I'd wager a lot more people know the Mario/Zelda tune than that.
It sure doesn't seem like Pac-Man or Donkey Kongs' arcade startup music, either. The only other thing I can think of might be one of the Tetris tracks.
At the moment, yeah, it's a few years old. But it's an awesome song.
