    Where to buy the game?

I recently caught wind of this fantastic looking game and I have come to my first question. My primary goal is to get the most out of my purchase. I have a $50 gift card to Target that has been in my wallet for a few months now, that I'd like to spend. On the other hand the Steam pre-purchase rewards look very tantalizing. So I'm making a pros can cons list for each option, and hope I can get info on any other viable options. I'd appreciate if anyone can help me make note of a few pros a cons for each option. One thing I'm interested in and don't think I could find out on any FAQ is, If I buy a hard copy of the game... will it come with a setup CD or just a code/launcher to download it online. I have a 1 megabit download rate, so I try to avoid large downloads where I can. Anyways, I appreciate any input guys, THANKS!

Hmm I dont think there is a physical PC version and its all digital download. I'd definitely want to use the $50 gift card as well haha. You may have to go with the Steam preorder or the one via Trion Worlds since they both have good pre-order bonuses. Use the Target gift card for a gaming headset haha

I may be wrong, but I'd assume that boxed copies would have an installation dvd in it. But I dunno if it would contain the entire installation on it or just the launcher bit. In the past I purchased wow and GW boxed sets and they had installation cds that installed the game but updates were needed to reach the current patch level. If I was in your position I would probably use the gift card for a physical copy, especially if you don't want to download a large client on launch date.

I like the way you think! However, I just got this baby about 2 months ago: http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-Ga.../dp/B00B1KJK22. Best headset I've owned to date.

I would agree with you, but I've heard stories of retail game boxes having nothing but a card with a game key in them. I don't blame retailers though, I'm just too poor to get with the times by buying better bandwidth rate. So, do you really think the pre-order bonuses aren't worth much consideration?

You should see if they have a Steam gift card or better yet a pre-paid Visa card. This way you can purchase from Steam or in the case of the Visa, wherever. Just keep in mind that they don't always allow you to purchase gift cards with other gift cards but you'll just have to see if they let you.

The only thing that entices me about the Trion purchase is the red dodge challenger car, but other than that steam seems to have better pre-purchase rewards, if all 3 reward levels unlock. Plus if I had the choice of having steam integration versus not, and paying the same price, I'd prefer steam. Perhaps you could support your opinion, I'd be more likely to sympathize.

That is an idea, but it does sound a little fishy to buy gift cards with gift cards, I'll have to do my research on that one. Thanks for the idea. Also, I dig the GTA avatar!

i cancelled my purchase from Trion and purchased thru Steam... but the sales on Steam seem to be extremely slow... the rewards are only upto 12% to level 1 and its already been up almost a week... If its gets to level 3, you cant beat the rewards .. total of 10 extra inventory slots if it gets to level 3..... so Im crossing my fingers..

I hope steam doesn't have a cancel preorder feature.. because if they dont hit reward 2 they are going to have a lot of cancellations. lol.
