Question for PC gamers

Only thing wrong with the interface is the chat system. Think most people are to used to playing either a fps or a mmorpg and expected something along the line of a mmorpg UI instead of a fps ui.

A normal FPS UI would have been an upgrade to what is currently in use. Your assumption is invalid.

Because games aren't advertised as having crappy console port UIs. What I bought was an MMO created by Trion, who based on my previous experences with Rift, know exactly how to make a proper UI for the PC.

The most intolerable bit of course is the chat system. The rest is merely annoying in its layout. But since the interface does let us take advantage of our keyboard, its not so bad. But the Chat...ugh. It seems purposely designed to get people not to communicate with each other.

This is actually my first mmo game (unless we can include planetside 2) but not my first shooter, so im completely lost as to why the chat issue is such a big deal!
So obviously its my first experience with a trion worlds product. In the past i have learned to support companies who give great support for pc games, valve, tripwire and blizzard are a few i can think of. So perhaps this is one way which i personally vote with my wallet. So far i think trion is doing a good job.. time will tell though

Well I think the complaints lie with the lack of "trade chat" different channels. Also the lack of window adjustment, which is apparently being remedied in the near future.

When you see other MMO's they tend to have a really robust chat system, and since Defiance isn't quite up to par in that regard, people are upset. It's understandable imo

Nah the main complaint is the chat window that fades 2 seconds after something appears on it and generally only being at best able to see one line at a time if you aren't typing. Its incredibly easy to miss nearly everything.

Trade/Global channels would be nice too, but I'd settle for being able to see the channels we currently have.

It should have been addressed during the beta where it was brought up numerous times. The entire user interface was an immediate complaint by most PC users. It's clunky, cumbersome and a pain in the *** to navigate.
