    Fujitsu AH530 or MSI GX720 ?

I currently have a fujitsu AH530 and I might be getting the MSI GX720. The specs for the fujitsu are:
    Processor:
    Processor: Intel Core i3 i3-350M / 2.26 GHz
    Multi-Core Technology: Dual-Core
    64-bit Computing: Yes
Chipset Type: Mobile Intel HM55 Express
    Cache Memory
    Type: L3 cache
    Installed Size: 3.0 MB

    RAM
    Installed Size: 4.0 GB
    Technology: DDR3 SDRAM – 1066.0 MHz
    Configuration Features: 2 x 2 GB

    Storage
    Floppy Drive: None
    Hard Drive: 500.0 GB – Serial ATA-150 – 5400.0 rpm
    Storage Removable: None
    Hard drive type: Portable

And the specs for the MSI GX720 are:
    • The latest Intel® Centrino® 2 Processor Technology
    • Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium
    • 17" TFT-LCD Widescreen Display
    • Exclusive Turbo Drive Engine Technology
    • Exclusive ECO Engine Power Management System
    • The Combination of Aluminum and Metallic Threads in Body Design
    • The nVIDIA Geforce 9600M GT 3D Graphic Card with DDR3 512 MB VRAM
    • Theater Class 5 Speakers
    • HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) Output
    • Built-in 2.0 Mega Pixel Webcam
    • 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN with Bluetooth

So im confused whether to keep my fujitsu or to switch to this MSI laptop, according to these specs which one is better? I'm 17 so I use the laptop for gaming purposes at most.
    Thanks x

Centrino is old tech. They stopped using that name for processors in 2010 I think, and now use it as a WiFi/WiMax platform name. Hell, that thing is running Vista, so it's definitely older than the i3 in your Fujitsu. The specs don't even tell you which Centrino it's using.

You're just going to be throwing money away with that MSI.

    are those cell phones??

no really.. that msi is not the way to go.. I am guessing your current laptop lacks in graphical processing? due to no graphics card? I don't see any info in that department..

when looking around.. stay away from anything labeled dell/alienware/voodoo/hp/gateway, atc.. there are sooo few names that can be trusted.. BUT, aside from building it yourself.. actually building it (not what dell calls "build your own" asus and acer make some solid products with defacto parts that are easy to swap/upgrade/modify.

also.. as much as I like having a laptop strong enough to play games on.. they are notoriously twice the price for 1/2 the product. Fact is.. will you really be needing to game on the move? is where you go not going to have what you need? are you not busy enough doing other stuff? I know when I want to sit down and really play a game, I focus on it.. in one comfortable spot, free from outside influence. Not going to the beach to read an E-book.. or go sit in the park to play WoW... if you go outside, BE OUTSIDE.. but other than that, you can save alot of $$ by going into the "desktop" arena.. most of the parts will last you until you go blind, the rest are the core components that work on the newest games for at least 5 years... if not more.

either way, stay away from those major, or unknown brand names, and from all that jargon. Find a smart buddy, or pick of a few issues of some PC mags and know all you need to on building, pricing, and comparing in less than a week.

Mirimon has some very good advice posted here. I'm no computer snob -- I play on a 2-year old HP Best Buy refrurb desktop with a PCE graphics card smushed in -- BUT -- the specs on the MSI are very meh.

If you're on a budget, and you aren't on the move all the time, I'd give some serious thought to a desktop. You can buy something somewhat basic, then upgrade along the way as you need/can afford it.

Thing is, if you're investing in a gaming laptop you better invest serious money on it. Laptops and notebooks are not made to run games, and they will most likely start overheating sooner or later so you need to get yourself a powerful machine that won't fry itself in the long run. I have a gaming laptop myself and even though mine's worked like a charm so far I'd still suggest you get a gaming desktop. Only reason I have a laptop is because I travel 2-3 times a year and I use my laptop for graphic design as well.
