Think I must be the only person on the forum who is undecided as to whether to actually play the beta or not when I get my invite. Yes I do want to play this asap but I hate repeating stuff in games, my character will get wiped and I don't want my view of the game to be sullied by bugs in the beta (I'm not exactly the most patient person).

Anyone els thinking like this or am I just odd?

Just play the opposite way of the way you plan on playing. Like I know I'm going to play as a Human Veteran (Assault Rifles), so I'll probably switch it up and play as a Human Machinist (LMGs).

Stuff like that allows me to enjoy the actual game.

Nope not odd at all. Like the others said, try out things you would not try out otherwise. You may actually like something you previously wrote off. Also, you get a preview of what character you want to create and can tweak it so the retail version goes smoother.

Not official till I here it here from someone from TRION, but I was so hoping for this weekend....
