And if the game sucks do I get a refund on that $40 or am I just out $100? This kind of tactic is shady and bad business practice Trion. Companies that conduct their business this way will be boycotted by me and I know there are other who feel the same. When add-on content first came about it was about rewarding fan/customer loyalty and keeping people playing the game and keeping the disc out of the used market. Now it's just a way to squeeze more money out of the consumer. Add-on content was priced at a minimal price point or even free, now it's $10-15 per DLC which might be only a couple of hours of additional play. ****, sometimes it's even crap like an alternate costume (look at LBP, the worst offender of all) or weapon. Who the hel pays for stuff like that. Fools I guess. I hope your game and TV show fail miserably.

DLC season passes dont mean the games incomplete its just new content to make the game longer or make it more interesting, and an MMO requires DLC/Expansions to survive

For 60, you get the full game. Many games have a so called season pass. It's just a way to get the DLC cheaper.

What many people seem to forget, or don't know, is that the game reaches a gold status at some point. Meaning they can't add anything to the game itself (on the disc). Fixes and changes have to be done with patches. And when the game goes gold, or some time before it, they will start to develop the DLC. It's not as if they wait a month or two after release of the game, suddenly start developing DLC and release it a month later. Developing DLC takes time. It's not something you can come up with and be done with in 1 week.

Pretty much every game has DLC now. You pretty much know Defiance was going to get DLC, and they announced a while back they will of course, release DLC. They've also introduced the Season pass, to get all the DLC cheaper.

So I wonder.. If they've never announced the season pass, would you still pass on the game? All the season pass does is basicly confirms that they're working on DLC, or want to add DLC, and you can get it at a discount. You don't have to buy it. It's not just Defiance, this is how it pretty much works with every game. Not every game announces or uses a season pass however.

No need to keep on explaining. If he's adamant that he's not going to be playing the game because of this then there is no point. First post in the forum and instead of asking why it's a wall of complaint. Sounds trollish to me and I'm keeping my tasty treats away from him.

Notice this was his first and hopefully only post.
Most games are now doing this. I am in two other VERY beta games atm. Both have the buy-in for early acess and then account bonuses at launch. Both also are already selling premium content. Bottom line at least read before you purchase, the if you dont like it dont buy it. Why come in and troll......Oh wait I get it now. Sneaky Troll.
