    Pvp

    Please don't mess up PVP.

    Needs to be skill based. Not equipment based.

    Should not take a magazine to kill someone

    No healers (after fight heals are good)

    Balance get it right the first time. (or at least close).

    Vehicles and cheesy power ups should not decide the match.

    Please review World OF T@nks for decent pvp balance.

    Twitch play should not own in pvp. Tactics and good strategy should.

    PVP gear "visuals Only" is an awesome idea.

    All items should be unlocked via PVE environment and be just as useful for pvp. Please no PVP based stats that make no sense at all. I want to grind my skill level not my gun of gladiation.

    Control BOTS
    Encourage team Play

    You guys just game me something to live for

    Good luck and please don't look in the wrong places for inspiration. We only still play that other game cause nothing else is out. The last thing anyone wants is yet another clone.

    PVP Rewards

    Lower cost of ammo
    Clean weapons cheaper
    Extra magazines
    Cosmetic equipment Scopes, bull barrels etc.
    Slightly Faster aiming reticle

    Just some stuff I thought I would throw out. Very stoked about this game.

    One last thing.. Please don't make it to kiddie. I don't mean with blood and stuff I'm talking about just making it where everyone runs and shoot. Add some depth to PVP Tactics, good cover, using the terrain.

    Watch those stealth snipers. lets not end up with a camping game.

    i think your expectations are too high. this isnt a call of duty or moh type of game, and shouldnt be compared to them.

    i too hope there is good pvp, but as an mmo, not expecting alot. just your typical stuff.

    Well not Typical at all, as there will be actual targeting. not just click on the name plates and roll your face over the KB.

    So yeah it would be nice to get a head shot for increased damage.

    Drop a bomb on a camping Sniper

    Shoot a gun hand off
    what I don't want is a twitch play FPS like Halo.

    The treadmill sucks. PVP is where it's at. we just need one company to get it right.

    No I dont want this to be a bf3,CS, or MOH cause as we all know its near impossible to join one of those without 50% of the players running a wall hack. (PC)

    There are tons and tons of people out there looking for the next real PVP game that is not populated by hacks,bots,pvp equipment and major balancing issues every 60 days.

    Just one person but thought I would try

    You had me on your side until this. Vehicles should be awesome and gameplay should be heavily mechanized. I'm not saying dismounted infantry shouldn't have anti-vehicle tools at their disposal but I want to see at least 50% of the combat be mostly or completely mechanized.

    I'm hella sick of "science fiction" MMOs with game mechanics straight out of the dark ages. Seriously, that crap is for all the washed up MMOs that are just WoW regurgitations with some LED lights slapped on armor textures.

    Science fiction or bust.

    I might not have the theme right on Defiance but it looks like most of the heavy stuff has been destroyed and we are collecting cool toys that are falling from the sky.

    My issue with vehicles is 90% of the time it gets to an absurd level of abuse against infantry.

    The anti Tank weapons never measure up and it ends up with a Healer(s) lined up behind the tank and complete
    slaughter fest on ground troops.

    You simply can't balance infantry Vs. tanks or Heavily armored vehicles. If you were able to balance tanks against infantry in an urban environment then it would fall heavily into the favor of infantry.

    When looking at advanced weapons there really is just no room for armored ground vehicles. I liken it to the musket making obsolete knights armor.

    Great discussions cant wait for this game.

    SOE managed to do it with both Planetsides so, yes, it's possible. Even easily possible IMO.

    And to a point I don't even agree there should be parity between infantry and armor. I'd rather just see armor more rare, more difficult to obtain, and more cost prohibitive to operate.

    If you want to wander around on foot shooting weapons with 30m ranges you can literally play every other crappy "science fiction" MMO ever made.

    It's time someone stepped up and made a science fiction MMO into something other than just a medieval fantasy derivative with flashier lights. You're asking for a giant step backwards.

    100% do not want.

    I want tanks, APCs, buggies, HMMWVs, choppers, shuttles, powered armor, and freakin' giant robots with death rays strapped to every single limb.

    Conversely, I want the dismounted tools necessary to counter them. Recoilless rifles, anti-tank missiles, AT mines, AT grenades, molotov cocktails, EMP weaponry, you name it.

    If Defiance is just another crappy MMO shooter with nothing for vehicles and engagement ranges shorter than the distance cavemen can sling rocks you can count me out. I've suffered through enough garbage-ware similar to that (Firefall, Earthrise, Fallen Earth, Global Agenda, SWTOR, SWG, et cetera) already and have no desire to do it again.

    On the note of PS, I was very interested in PS2 but judging from what I'm reading on the forums looks to be a major issue with armor currently. The other issue I'm seeing with is the amount of time it takes to kill someone.
    That being to me a pure fail for a shooter.

    Please no RPG spam either.

    Other than that lets agree that they get the balance correct on PVP. I can defiantly put up with some maps with armor

    On the other hand armor/vehicles doesn't need to be in the game to make it any good. if anything having them inside the game just because will probably make the game worse. Combat vehicles need to be added in from the beginning so that the base of the game is built around vehicles and foot combat to make sure that one side or the other isn't overpowered/underpowered/unused.

    Also Cavadus just because a sci-fi shooter/MMO (Or hybrid of whatever) doesn't have vehicles/armor/mechs doesn't make it a bad game. There's a whole host of other things that can make a game bad or good. Simplifying it down to "This game is crap, no vehicles." is ridiculous.

    I did not agree with you at all about in game crafting, but I do agree with you here. This a FPS/MMO not a first person shooter. This game is base on a Sci-fi world with Aliens meet Humans on earth. There is a story to the game and big time questing . You get loot drops from MOBs. You can heal and Rez people. I'm so glad this game is nothing like CoD or BF3 ! Thank you !!!!

    Armor balance is fine in PS2. Heavy assaults can easily light up MBTs as long as they have a little cover and aren't unloading their AT rockets into the frontal armor.

    The issue in PS2 is that anyone can grab a MBT without certing into it like we did in PS1 and they made MBTs single-operator vehicles whereas in PS1 there was a dedicated driver and gunner.

    The tanks themselves are not OP, they're just much too easily spammed because all players have individual access to them.

    TTKs are fine in PS2 for everything except MAXs which are gimp as hell.

    I've been beta-testing PS2 for six months. You might want to do more than just read a few forum posts before you start judging a game.

    It does for me. Science fictions MMOs have always failed super hard for me because they really are nothing but a typical DIKU/MUD fantasy derivative in terms of gameplay. In othe words, the science fiction genre is utilized only aesthetically and is not reflected in actual gameplay at all. I'm incredibly bored of these faux science fiction games and I truly don't want to see Defiance fall into this same trap.

    We know vehicles will be the primary mode of transportation because we've all the seen ATVs. We also know we're getting technicals (improvised fighting vehicles) and perhaps even proper fighting vehicles. We know there will be giant robots with death rays (that trailer with the giant robot shooting death rays from it's eyes).

    I think we're going to see a lot of vehicles and that they'll be central to the bulk of an average player's gameplay and that's how it should be IMO.

    I'm just bored to tears with MMOs that are pretending to be science fiction and I sincerely hope Defiance actually lives up to the genre it's set in.
