This is rediculus, I was wrongly banned As well. Trion needs to be more careful when it comes to dealing with banning accounts. Trion can't just go and ban innocent players. Trion's anti-cheating software needs to be better tested and more secure, before they go about releasing it. I understand that they are trying to make the Defiance game environment a better place, but you can't just go and whip out the ban-hammer against loyal paying customers haphazardly.
I get a kick out of this. All these people screaming they were wrongly banned for trying to gain an unfair advantage on the game, then they start listing off all their stuff, such as a rapid fire mouse, choice programmable keyboards, and a host of 3rd party hardware and software to make their computers better then what they use at NASA. Seriously?! Its all that stuff that makes your PC so boss thats tripping the anti-hacking software. Perhaps certain more affluent members of this gaming community need to take into account, your PC is just too powerful for this game. This is why you should play on a console. We have less bugs on the console side anyway.

The basical function of anti-cheat or any DRM program is to scan for any strange or even not allowed process on client computers (same thing as antivirus). Any driver or legit program let a well-known and listed signature so that's impossible to be banned using these softs, or, their database is out-of-date.
yes i got a 72 hour ban and banned for a week from the forums .yet when i log into the game the same hackers are still there....also the endless patches .ie fixed sever stability ,what a load of bollox that is ,disconnecting more now than ever,last perk slot isnt holding the perk ,i cant get a refund on my season pass,apparantly according to a gm ive used game time on it ,how they derive at that statement as the season pass isnt released yet is beyond me..a official post about losing weapons ,sent a ticket in about that and they told me in not so many words to go f myself.
What a complete load of s h ite this release is.i work in the software industry and tbh this is the worst pile of crud i have ever witnessed in my entire life of gaming.
I agree for most part of your opinion and the actual bad "work" from Trion. But if that's the worst in your entire gamer's life, you might not play since a long time^^. These last years, almost all devs, are just focusing on commercial, benefits and don't take care anymore in gamers, their customers.
Maybe they need more time to fix it as this game is yet pretty young. W8 and see.
ive played computer games from the age of the vic 20 so wait and see in 2013 just doesnt cut it for me anymore.
im releasing a update on the 20th may for the company i work for complete new release of the software (educational,market leader.)and seriously if i released what TRion did with Defiance i would be fired.I had high hopes for the game ,even the people who really love the game aside its a complete shambles .the forums are testament to that,even the fanboys are getting pissed off about it.
I'm in a similar position as some of you, except I have been permanently banned. I freely admitted that I used a third party program, not to hack but to check to see if a stupid oversight on Trions behalf had been fixed(they left all damage values stored on the client side, which is what people were hacking in pvp & arkfalls). I literally only check to confirm that it had been fixed, because that would have been my queue to actually bother to start with pvp. I had kept out of it previously because there were too many people hacking in it & besides not enjoying pvp at the best of times in other games, I enjoy it even less when I know that there are stupid exploits that people use to make pvp even less fun.
Then I get banned permanently. After appealing the decision, I still get the brush off. Obviously they are only bothering to do a process scan for programs that they believe are only used for hacking because if they had bothered to investigate and check things like damage output, I'd still be playing as I didn't bother to give myself any advantage whatsoever.
Oh AND about a month back I got a 24 hour ban(which I waited out witout complaining) then the very next apparent infraction for me is a permanent ban despite other people getting a 24 hour, 36 hour, 72 hour ban BEFORE getting permanently banned.
In conclusion, f*** TRION.
That stupid error that let people hack damage due to weapon stats being stored client side does infact appear to be fixed(huzaah), not that it matters to me now anyway.

Educational Software is the WORST software in the industry. How you can compare Educational software to a video game is beyond me. I have to deal with Ed Software daily. Its HORRIBLE.
