Why does NO one talk on xbox?

party chat killed people talking to stranger danger, halo 3 every one had a mic, gow 2 party chat no one would talk and id find the bad guys if i died and tell my team, yeah we in party chat whole time

I don't know about the xbox but I know on PC we use 3rd party chat clients, a few of my friends that still play console use there tablets or laptop to chat instead of the ingame chat since they can than use team speak, vent or video chat with skype. Maybe that's why you don't see people chatting on xbox?

I use the party feature when playing with friends and when i'm not I talk in-game it's how you make friends and such

I am bad with people xD . but i mostly party chat with friend , when in game chat i mostly mute my mic , due to my headset sometime getting all the noise around my house which will annoy people .

and duskky i believe another way to meet friend is by how they play . i got many friend that when i meet them we never talk but we did well together and after a few game/day we start talking =)

like everyone else said, its because of Party Chat. most times, everyone you play with is in their own squad, chatting amongst themselves.

public chat is rare.

I have learned that most people are there & will talk as long as you sound normal. like no loud music background noise or singing lol.

most people with mics sing poorly or using a kinect and i don't want to hear squeakers being yelled at by there parent

I play a lot of BF3, and if im not in a party with friends its always dead quiet on mic..no one speaks, and no one drops supplies etc. I think mic use has had bad press from all the stories/youtube vids of screaming kids etc..

Hopefully Defiance will be a pleasent surprise...
