The one that I have has a 1700 some odd capacity, 10%/sec recharge, and a 6 second delay before that recharge happens. It also has a 25%/second health recharge on it. I use this shield with my dual-shotty infiltrator. He doesnt need it so much when he's cloaked, but as soon as those shields come down he's taking quite a bit of health damage, and there needs to be some regeneration to compensate for that and the perks that activate upon shield break. I use him for PvP.

My other tank build uses a VOT Mazu Blast Rifle with Radiactive on it and a VOT Autoblaster with syphon. His shield only has just over 1000 charge, but it has a 3 second recharge delay and a 50% health reacharge per second. Also an 80%/second recharge on the shield. Again, he has a lot of perks that rely on shield break and recharge in order for them to activate. With syphon he can take a surprising amount of damage before he's put down. He uses Overcharge.

The shield that you use really depends on your play style. Are you a sniper that has a lower capcity shield but a fast recharge because you tend to keep your distance and want that fast recharge? Are you a tank character that likes that high capacity and doesnt worry about recharge? It really all depends on your play style. There are no good or bad shields.

    Y'all whine too much.

Different shield different times. I use respark 1070ish 2.8?sec delay with 70% recharge for last boss and rampage/hotshot for everything else I use bounty....or techyon 3 or 4 1360ish that has 50% health reg. but 9.6 delay with 40%. Depends on situations for me

    Respark
    3 second delay
    40% recharge rate

Also look for the ones with the extra bonus stats.
I kept an 25% HP Regen and another with Damage Resistance.

If you PvP don't worry about the delay, most likely you'll be dead by then.
Take high shield capacity and damage resistance.

Oh and if anyone is around level 750 and doesnt have a shield like that message me in game i have a few.
Correction: it will take 3 sec before it starts to recharge. The middle stat is % pr sec.

I, along with many others, prefer the "Respark" series of shields for general uses. While it does only have 1000 shield, the 3 second recharge delay and 40% recharge rate mean that it takes around 5 seconds to get back your full shields. This ensures that your HP regen starts as well which only happens when your shields are full. This means all you have to do is duck behind cover for a few seconds and you'll be back in action. Because of this regeneration rate and delay, I can survive a single sniper constantly sniping me without dying (since first shot kills my shields and they regen before the second shot).

I also strongly recommend trying to find a "Respark Regenerator" which makes life much easier all around. I currently use one that has 1156 Shields, 40% regen, 3s delay and +75% HP regeneration (which just increases base HP regeneration). You can see how effective that is in the link to my video in my signature, despite breaking a lot, it always comes back up. Sometimes I just run around something and it's back up.

I should also note there's a second line of shield philosphy that involves using a very high end capacity shield (such as Rhino or Ironclad) and then using a BMG to kick start the shield regeneration instantly but I'm not a fan and like having two weapons.

I use The respark charger IV EX (gold) 8% damage reduction on shield drop. I also have a 25% health regen respark. But gold is gold lol.
