They should have rare items besides leveling and the lore and pv. what would keep me coming back if they didnt have rare items? they might have not just said anything about rare items till release.

I guess that will really depend on just how the enemy leveling, and weapon drops work. For example I believe that Arkfalls and co-op drop leveled loot ( with scaled enemies that pose a challenge to you ). But then, what about enemies in the outside world? If they do tend to more or less level up with you ( or at least the drops ) to provide you with a challenge, then its unlikely that you'd be able to farm them with consistency because you keep going up an up... making it hard to collect 'specific' rare items.
Otherwise, then yeah its plausible that certain unique world mobs, or certain enemy types might drop something special to them, as I believe that all the gear is more or less handcrafted.. so while they've got a bunch of every one type of weapons.. there's specific ones.. so they might have created those kinda rare unique drops.

They talked about different loot depending on what your doing such as dynamic events or shadow war. Sounds to me if you do more pvp you'll get more pvp oriented items and vice versa. I was looking for the video where they talk about this but i couldnt find it. But i think more than rare wep drops there are going to be rare upgrades or lock boxes.

Im guessing they will as well, all games today have them.
from what ive seen so far this game is more of a shooter in general than a MMO

This game doesn't even have armor. Cosmetic outfits only.Hope there's quite some epic & rare armors too
Also the difference between a rare top level weapon and a weapon you can find 5 minutes into the game is very little. They've left it like this so that new players can compete against veterans.
