I had very, very low expectations of the show. With that being said, it actually wasn't that bad. I like Nolan, Irisa, the mayor & the hooker lady. Other characters were god awful. The 80lb black Deputy...lol. Mr. Miyagi....terrible. The emo alien boy...
Maybe I'm nitpicking on them (or not), just watch and see for yourself! Overall though I liked it despite some of the cheesiness.

Just wanted to point out your talking about two different things. The crystal, the one we stole in the game, gets taken from him in the beginning by those other alien ark hunter raider guys. The ark core is different, its the big round thing that he turned into a weapon at the end of the episode! = )
I'm not even sure that was an ark core, was it? The ark core looks different in game. I think it had a different name.
I can't keep up with all the first episode threads on various parts of the forum, so I'll just say I thought the first episode was great. Great introduction, and I can't wait to see them develop the characters more.
I loved how all the pop songs (well except "oldies") were "in universe!" That was an awesome touch.
