I'm looking forward to Dragon Age III. Though I'm extremely apprehensive after the second one. Keep your Mass Effect out of my Dragon Age. They're both great franchises, but they don't need to be Dragon Age with guns and aliens or Mass Effect with swords and pointy ears. (Although if Mass Effect had a lightsaber weapon... instant sale)
Other than Inquisition I'm definitely looking forward to the following:
The Last Of Us
Grand Theft Auto V
Dark Souls II (For some odd reason, despite not liking Dark as much as Demon's)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
And uh... oh wow... I thought there were lots more than that. I'm not bringing anything next gen into this particular equation though. I've probably forgotten a few games I was looking forward to actually.

First I've heard of that actually....
I'm all for trying to get gamers as a whole to open their mind and try something a little out of their comfortable gaming habits, but I will definitely be disappointed if they do indeed tone down the next entry of Dark Souls. That's part of the whole appeal you know? Very few games can have you cursing after failing a 30 min long battle and then the next moment, you're jumping for joy because you were able to pull it off.
Maybe the accessibility they're referring to relates to the multiplayer aspect? Making it easier for you to meet up with friends or making the invasion/calling aspect of the game a little tighter. Definitely do NOT touch the core aspect of the game though, that I do agree with you about.
@ AGuyWithNoName kk just found a article from 4 days ago in wich they explain.
Thank god they didnt mean it the way they first said it although making it more straightforward to understand
is a no go in my book when it comes to Dark souls.
But here you go interview http://www.nowgamer.com/features/188..._show_you.html
and a demo of Dark souls 2

Lets hope they optimize for pc this time so Durante doesnt need to fix it again .
Excellent little article there fsol. Much oblige for posting it.
The whole weather thing sounds interesting, I suppose now we'll be blown off those narrow walk ways instead of making that misstep that sends us screaming into the abyss. Wonder how far they will go with it though. Will rain cause vision problems? Knowing the twisted sense of fun From has (oh how I love you guys and gals for it) I could see rain causing ailments due to the nature of the world you play in (true acid rain anyone?). I know I'm probably reaching with that but I can so see them doing something like that, I mean Blighttown was a nightmare to work your way through with all of the status effects placed on you at seemingly every turn.
Personally, in regards to how the world was, I liked the way they had Dark Souls laid out. Started very linear but as you uncovered new area and shortcuts, the world felt a lot more open. Perhaps they're going with that open feeling right from the start this time? Again, given the nature of the game, that doesn't mean you'd necessarily want to go everywhere.
The whole emotional fight thing seemed rather ...unnecessary? I say that because there was already a sense of that in the prior entries. I can't be the only one that would happen upon a new area and see something laying inconspicuously to the side and think...yeah, that's not going to be good. So you creep forward shield at the read buffs applied only to have nothing happen, or have it happen where your attention wasn't.
Server based instead of client based should address the horrible mp issues I spoke of in my earlier post.
Framerate never bothered me as I was often too busy trying to stay alive (damn those frogs in the sewers!!) to notice. And when I wasn't focused on surviving I was often focused on the possibility around the next corner to notice lol.
Learning from death...is that something new with this game? Wouldn't have it any other way in this aspect.
As for the broadening of the audience, I still say that this is going to have more to do with making the mp aspect more appealing. Personally, I hardly ever summoned and never invaded as the faded ghosts, blood splatter memories, and messages added to the appeal of the alone but never alone aspect. Can't count how many times I'd get caught watching a ghost from a distance dodging, fighting, and blocking and use what I saw for when I rolled up into what that ghost was actually fighting.
Sounding good so far and I like what I see (though watching the video makes the kid in me stamp his foot and scream "NOW Damn You"). I would like to see a more robust crafting system I must say. I'm not saying the one they have is weak, but I would like more freedom to actually craft weapons for myself (like how you had to find the right pieces along with the right material for the Blueblood Sword in Demon Souls) and extend that to more than just weaponry. You can still have the set pieces scattered throughout the land but allow some smithing of shields and armor.
Again, good read and thanks for sharing, I'll stop babbling now.
Ok, more you guys talk about Dark Souls the more I'm convinced I'll buy it at the start of the month. I should get familiar with the series before a new installment comes out if it's as cool as everyone is describing.
