    Clustercharge vs. Fragcharge grenades

Anyone figure out yet if the damage on clustercharge grenades is total for all that it pops, or is it per individual grenade it pops. I'm just wondering if it does way more overall total damage than a fragcharge.

    Ex.

    Clustercharge dmg = 1562
    Fragcharge dmg = 3367

By these numbers the cluster is about half as much, but if it was per pop, then it'd be double. Kind of a big difference either way.

that is only the fragcharges max dmg you're posting there. the fragcharge descends rapidly in damage as you get away from its center-point. my guess is that the clusercharge just has a wider aoe dmg overall, making it better for multiple mobs.

each charge within the cluster can do that much damage, the initial and each of the three sub-charges. So if you aim it correctly on a big guy, you can hit him for the max damage shown 4 times with one grenade.

Cluster is much much better, only reason I am holding onto my frag is the 0 det time, hopefully some day ill find a 0 det time cluster if they exist.

I heard that cluster grenades can cause the 0 damage bug on arkfalls.

3 times 1550 is not double of 3300 btw. The initial blast does not deal damage.

And there are pros and cons to both.
While frag is more precise and has less of a delay and often a lower cooldown when comparing items of the same rarity, clusters will have the higher damage potential as long as you hit with all 3 blasts and they of course have a larger overall area of effect.

The biggest difference between individual grenade items is the recharge time btw. The difference between 24 and 30 seconds is quite significant ... as in 20%!
Think of other MMOs and what you would've given to get a 20% CD reduction on your highest burst ability that deals AoE damage on top of that.

If you want a greater AoE effect, go cluster ... otherwise for simple burst damage, potentially quicker refresh go frag and for CC pyro (burn has a chance to "fear" the target and neither flash nor bio deal damage).

ps: not all grenades are "charge" there are "surge" and others as well, those are suffixes and determine things such as minimum damage or cooldown.
