So there are more than just the two races that we can currently play as, in the universe expanse that we know as Defiance. Which are of course the Humans and Irathients, whom are the current playable races. Recently having played the Beta and wanting to play as an Indogene after it. I had hoped that Trion Worlds would add the Indogene among other races as playable characters for the Retail version. Even though Indogene seem to be very docile and not really all that interested in combat but more into science and exploration. I think because they are likely the most tech advanced race that they would make the best Ark-Hunters or at least look pretty cool. I'm sure there are race trade-offs for being an Indogene alone though. Which is probably why they have Highly Advanced Genetic Implants or H.A.G.I. that are very much sought after by the Ninety-Niners and other races. Although if they don't add them I can understand that because the population of the Indogene is supposed to be relatively small. This is due to not enough of them having survived the Arks.

I think If I had a Indogene character I could relate more to what is going on. It just gives me that extra layer of immersion to me and my friends as the Indogene kinda are similar to myself when it comes down to culture and social. So I get them even though I'm personally agnostic and not atheist unlike them. I think that experience would be unique as an Indogene, as it would reflect on my actual personality better. They sorta remind me of the Salarians from Mass Effect. Which I think is interesting.

I have complied a list of Races in Defi using the wiki I found. Which in itself is not perfect nor complete likely as the show launches tomorrow and we will get to see the fiction expand as it rolls out. (I hope that I will get to watch it on Hulu w/out cable providers getting in the way like they did with Psych's season 7 and Netflix did via licensing with season 5 & 6. I have Hulu Plus and it seemed like I cant get my day one streaming access on PC or other devices, which is total BS)

I want to be a sensoth because they are the Wookie's of Defiance, but they can talk.

This race is taller than others, bigger than others, and stronger than others, and I would like to see some kind of melee dmg boost if this race becomes playable

The Geth are a Race in Mass Effect. Geth are very much sentient and are Robots like the Scrappers are. Also, on Mass Effect 2 we were introduced for the first time to Legion, a Geth character that we could later play as/with after meeting "it" which "it" hated being called.

So I say; why not?

The big blue mutant for me. Would love to wield me a mini-gun as a default weapon! But unless the races get something like race bonuses... I can't see any point in having more than 1 character in this game.

Possibly if you wanted 4 low EGO rated toons, 1 for each power. But once you get to a high enough lvl, you can just have one power equipped to a different loadout... that's kinda what I've got. A touch fiddly snapping from one loadout to the next in a fire fight, but definitely worth it.

I hope later on they do introduce new races and actually have different skill sets and attributes for each. Right now we can only play as Humans or Irathients and a side from the cosmetic difference there really isn't any difference at all.

That seems to be a specific character request opposed to a race request. I'm not opposed to other players playing as specialized characters, however I think that might be a tricky thing for Trion to do. It's quite possible you wont ever get to play a specific character, but if its all the same to you. That is, if they add the character's race you could make a look-alike character. So that is one possibility.

I quite agree with this, there seems to be little to no attribute differences in how they would react or when it comes down to stats. However, fictionally they do have that but there isn't really much impact game wise when it comes to differentiating them either in stats or just roaming around. Sometimes I hate that about MMOs. Things tend to get boiled down alot more than they should. Hopefully going future forward we will get more Character-Race interactions and stats differences in the Game.
