Hmm. Can we get more info on some things like what mouse/keyboard you're using, your key bindings, your DPI, and your mouse sensitivity settings. It seems to me to be a mechanics issue than a strategy issue if you have consistently failed. Where exactly do you go wrong? Maybe my video of me doing it will help but I am uploading it now and will need to leave it overnight.

Take a break and go do something else and come back to it and try a few times again when your fresh. When I played dark souls the end boss was frustrating and annoying that I quit for a year. When the expansion came out I decided to kill him and then do the expansion. I got him on my second try after only having played a few hours after a 1 year delay. Sometimes being fresh is very important because your not stuck in your conditioned actions and your relaxed. Git a few days or a week and then go try a few more times.

This has become so frustrating for me that I cannot sleep. There is no way that I can defeat Nim and I know this now. In all the MMORPGs I have played since 1999, this game does not allow for groups against major bosses and I cannot work past my disability in this matter to defeat one boss. There is just no way I can beat Nim before the show starts tomorrow after work. I just don't have the dexterity to hit the right key at the very right time to avoid Nim and seems to know where I am going before I do. There really is very little room for error for a person who makes alot of errors. At this point, this boss requires no skill and is entirely nothing but luck and I have alot of bad luck.

I started searching youtube videos to help me out. The rolling around disoriented me and would lose track of him and die. The best I have been able to do was get him to halfway on phase 1 and die. This is very frustrating for me.

I have been playing computer games since they were all-text adventures in the 1980's. I remember playing Pong when it came out in the 1970's and the Atari 2600. I remember playing Doom, Heretic, and Wolfenstein. For those people who remember the pencil and paper rpg's, I have been playing those since D & D came out in the 1980's. I started playing Everquest in 1999 as well as Asheron's Call, City of Heroes, City of Villains, WoW, Everquest 2 and those are just to name a few.

Don't get me wrong, I want to do well. I just don't seem to have the ability to do well in this game. This is mostly a young person's game and not for anyone like myself like a grandparent. I really need 1 other to help me with this boss and there is no way to hire a merc or enlist for a player to help me out like other games are able to do. I never got back to the point where I had before to even get Nim to even half health in phase 1. I don't even want the rewards as I will never use a pistol in any game.

If you have problems hitting the dodge key you should rebind it. I rebound it to my mouse. You mention that in videos when you see dodge rolling you lose track of the boss. Don't worry, the people in the video dodge rolling also lose track of the boss. They just have come to a conclusion that preemptive dodge rolling is more beneficial and it's not relevant where the boss is when doing that. If you do keep track of the general direction of the boss and can twitch shoot him fast you will do more damage and therefore the fight less time. You can dodge roll all day and avoid all the attacks though pretty easily.

Beat him around EGO 450 with a SMG (not BMG) and a combat shotgun. He's not so much hard as annoying. Long fight and if you get any lag or lose track of him for even a second you can end up dead. Took me about 5-6 tries but got him, eventually. May have been easier with a BMG though, I'll admit.

I just wanted to get past this mission before the show started is all I wanted. I don't want any of the rewards as I won't use any of them and most likely sell the pistol.

Apparently this thread is full of people who have lost or neither had any real skill to begin with. Too used to games where everything is handed to you(WoW's downfall). Sorry to offend but games today cater too much to the casual. I loved this fight, reminded me of the good old days of when killing a boss was an actual accomplishment. Yes Nim is annoying, yes the fight can be a bit long considering you basically have to kill him 3 times, and No its not impossible. He kicked my rear a few times before becoming predictable. Learn the pattern. Not to sound like a jerk but I hope they leave Nim alone, that way those that are having trouble have something to practice on and hone their 3rd person shooting skills. Seems most have forgot Defiance is 90% shooter. Good hand and eye coordination and reaction time is sort of required.

I did all the missions with nearly no difficulty except for a couple bosses. I am extremely patient since I have been working on Nim for nearly a week. I never asked to lower the difficulty but would like to finish the quest with one other. If a certain ability is required to play this game, I never saw it on the package or the requirements to play this game otherwise I would have never spent the money for the game. If there needs to be a restriction for this game please talk to Trion's Marketing department. Until then, please don't presume that WoW conditioned the casual gamer to make everything easier. I played WoW for 5 years, Asheron's Call for 5.5 years, Everquest 2 for 2.5 years. I may be a casual raider but I am not a casual gamer. So, please stop stereotyping people.

Again, 3rd person shooter, actually requires you to aim and avoid incoming damage. Not just press F3 and a magical firebolt automatically hits the target because its in range.

And I never said anything about restricting anything or anyone, people just need to grow a pair and practice, they will eventually get better. Nerfing or changing to cater to those lacking skill is counter productive.

    have a good day

I never pressed F3 for a spell but I still press buttons for weapons in this game or use the wheel on mouse to swap out weapons. I do aim at my targets. This article is not for people who have completed Nim but for those few that find it impossible. Unless you are trying to help, bragging does not help us it just frustrates us.
