PS4 if I recall is going with a PC architecture though...

This must have come up with the powers that be at some point? Releasing a game like this on a console so close to the end of its cycle before the new gen is released and not have a plan in place would be foolish. Cos while the 720/PS4 doesn't mean the instant death of current consoles. U are right most ppl aren't gonna play both gens.

Nextgen consoles will have the same problem as the PC, ancient hardware dragging down the game.

I think alot of ppl underestimate the amount of players that lovingly hold onto thier old consoles and play them all of the time
......especially since trade in values are shyt,.

consoles I currently own and, play all the time(and still have tons and tons of games for): N eS, SNES, N64, GC(with gba adapter), Wii, sega genesis, Original PS1, Fatboy PS2, Fatboy PS3 60gb, XBOX, 2Xbox360s(because 1 always breaks and need backups) AtARI!!! Yes I said that.
Handhelds I own and have games for: gameboy, gameboy pocket, gameboy color, gameboy advance, gameboy micro, gameboy advanceXP, NDS lite, N3ds, gamegear, PSP1000, PSP2000, PSVita3g wifi, PSVita wifi only(white).
If people love gaming enough they hold onto thier memories and consoles. Id hate to think the majority of real gamers out there are rushing through thier systems and trading them in, like some do with games just so they can have the highest acheivment/trophy count. Ill never stop playing my beloved ps3, even after the ps5 comes out.

The SDKs for the ps4 are already out. Not sure about xbox. If they are smart, they are already working on either a next gen version, or a port to the next gen. All depends on if we can play on the same network. Will ps4 and xbox 720 have their own networks? Or will they use the current ones?

I was thinking this exact same thing. Then i realized i still played halo from my xbox to my 360. So why wont we be able to play defiance on the next console? surely all it will take is a patch.
