Why exactly does this post reappear everyday? The game has progression. IT has weapon and character progression and your weapon levels up as well. They stated all this early on yet people still feel the need to complain that it doesn't feel right? Do you guys even know what you are buying half the time or do you just go "Hell yeah! Aboard the hype train!?" The game is fine, a person who has put time in their perk choices and weapon skill will have a much better chance at survival or outright do more damage than someone who has not.

There are plenty and enough things to get from point A to B in this game. There just aren't enough things to get from point A in the game, to point B in your head of what you think this game should be.

Thank you Zeroexit, this is exactly what I'm talking about. If someone doesn't feel stronger, or more powerful as they level, they won't see the point of leveling up and will then stop seeing the point of actually playing.

People have told me to go play WoW, which I find laughable and expected, but why is that a defense of this game? Its almost as if they're saying if I want to play a game WITH progression I need to go play WoW.

I personally like the way the system currently is, but I came into this expecting a shooter with a persistent world and not a classic MMORPG. The fact that the weapons don't become super weapons at higher EGO rating means that I do not "outlevel" an area. I don't "outlevel" my friends and I don't "outlevel" content. From day 1 to day 8001, I can enjoy the entirety of what the game has to offer because there are no "grey" zones or any of the other problems that traditional MMOs have.

There are also things like PVP balance and whatnot, but I can't speak to that as I don't PVP.

Also, there are some gear progression with shields and grenades. There are also character progression with skills, just because it's not enough for you doesn't mean that there is NO progression. Granted, there are some things that I think they should change, but this is not one of them. If they do turn this into a traditional MMO style progression/ladder climbing game, then I will leave.

In short, to each there own.

Okay, looks like I have to show you what he wrote. Frost's OP:

Lack of progression will push people away.

Please don't get me wrong, this isn't a "I'm leaving" post, but I am looking for a bit of a pep talk. The face is, there is little to no difference between an ego 300 and ego 10. While this is nice for being able to play with other people lower and higher levels, its frustrating because I feel like I'm just spinning my tires. I'm only at EGO 420 or so but the guns I'm finding are EXACTLY the same as the ones I found at 10, 20, 80, 100, etc. Other than story, I'm having a hard time getting motivated to play.

And IF by some chance you do find a gun you enjoy, you only get it for a limited time because the game forces you to use different guns once they're maxed out in XP if you want to gain anymore weapon XP. How does that make ANY sense??

Without any sense of progression people aren't going to be playing this game long. Look at other games, especially MMO's, you have to have SOMETHING that makes people come back for more. Unless I'm missing something, Defiance is missing that hook that makes people stay with a game for an extended period of time."

All the bolded and underlining is my emphasis. Any questions?

Hey we agree, this game is NOTHING what I think it SHOULD be and that's fine, Im allowed as you stated To have my own opinion. Im beginning to think that it is YOU who wants everyone to be a fanboy. You are a tool to me if you enjoy such repetitive gameplay over and over. But answer this dude, what happens when you get to EGO 5000? Whats the "Point"?

there is progresiion its just not what everybody likes, and the lack of weapon skins and variation is like a spider building the first part of the web, its not complete (or i like to think so,hope they add the thousands of wapons like they said)

Cool bro, show me where he says (which you quote him as saying) There is NO progression? Having a sense of progression is not progression, its the feeling you get, which there is NONE OF. So cmon dude, youll have to do better then that...

Oh and BTW everything you highlighted him saying is true.

The problem is...these people are going to leave regardless. They are looking for a mmorpg if this is a problem. This game is not a mmorpg.

I don't complain about a lack of progression for shooters. Some progression is nice, this game has some, and its non-traditional by mmorpg standards. I don't complain about a lack of progression in sport games, or in MOBA games. I don't complain about grind and progression in mmorpg games or RPG;s in general. I know what game im about to buy and I buy it for what it is.

You cant force mmorpg players looking for an everquest with guns and no tab target combat to like a game like this. Its a completely different type of game than what they are interested in.

I don't want this game to start changing into a mmorpg...it will be a bad mmorpg, rather than a good mmo shooter.

not all mmo games are RPG's. This game being one of those.
