Who can't Log on? What's up Defiance? Where are the servers?

I've had the same lag today, where before this the game ran fine. My vehicle takes several seconds to spawn as well. Also, during an arkfall earlier, I stopped picking up loot...and all the hellbugs just froze in their tracks. Then I noticed the timer for the arkfall wasn't running down. The server then kicked me, but I was able to log back in. After that, I was fighting some 99'ers, and they were teleporting because of lag all over the place. The server then kicked me again, but now I can't log back in....

Once the patch is installed, it automatically says that, and what it means is that it is checking for any new ones real quick, while also pulling up the current ones in your hard drive. This does not truly require XBL to be functioning to run this process, if I am not mistaken.

People just need to chill, you need to remember this is the first MMO on a system like this since final fantasy, of course there is gonna be problems in the beginning it was excepted but their gonna fix it just like any other game

im not sure how but me and my friends/clan members are all on. i had a problem before but i just disconnected and retested my live connection and ive been fine for hours...hope that helps.

not to start or rather popularize a rumor but i heard through a friend that anonymous has made a threat against live for the very old news megaupload situation, i ignored it then i got a warning from a page i liked on facebook but the site wasnt one i recognized as reputable by its url (myxboxachievements or something-not saying it isnt reputable but i havent been on that site before)...seems kind of suspicious that MS employees are getting hacked right after and that servers on live are failing-which has never happened since i got this current live membership(july '12). once again its just a rumor but just wanted to put it out there.

Ive been to that site several times since yesterday. Its referring to "in-game" challenges, and DIRECT connection to the XBOX LIVE service. The problem isnt being posted here that people "cant connect to xbox live". The problem is "The defiance Servers are not available"... which if they werent available how come it allows patch verification prior to our attempt to log in to the game.

If your servers verify/patch us, its XBOX LIVE not allowing us to connect to your servers? Arent we connected when you are verifying/patching/fetching? Its doesnt have a problem doing those things... its doing what its supposed to, and after it confirms/patches/verifies the data it stops us at logging into your server.

How is that Microsoft? Just asking is all. doesnt make sense that the game allows us to connect for the PATCHES, but then says no to logging in.

They probably need to verify that you have an active gold account to let you connect to the servers. If they don't have that connection then their servers are defaulting to a not available state. Just speculation.

I receive the same error on xbox. Funny this, my girlfriend is sitting right next to me on her Xbox, and she's actually playing.
