    TBH here, a shotgun has it's uses. In an actual open area combat situation, they are not the first weapon of choice. However, in an enclosed space, such as in a house, or the passageways of a ship, they are probably the best weapon you can get your hands on. The knock down + spread = cleared area. Any more than 25-30 feet away, and the spread is too much to be effective.

    real life related: every law enforcement / military person i know will swear up and down that a shotgun is your best friend in a poorly lit room.

    game related: it seems the "did i hit" algorithm is so screwed up that the only weapon you're guaranteed to get -some- kind of positive hit ratio with (while hip-firing, that is), is the shotgun, because of the spread, instead of randomly placing bullets in a very wide crosshair (that only gets bigger if you're moving, ie - engaged in pvp).

    they could do 1x1 damage, as long as they still had a hit check that reads "if its in the cross hairs at all, it gets hit at least once", it will still be the weapon of choice for the sprinting, bunny hopping pvper. simply because everything else sucks much balls when you so much as tiptoe -towards- your target.

    Indeed King Jaja. I myself own a 12 gauge pump and my wife has an assault rifle because the shotgun is way too much gun for her. If you think the shotgun is useless then you aren't shooting the right type of rounds out of it. Need range and power? Shoot buckshot or slugs. But back on topic the shotguns in game feel like the real life shotguns, and you can bet I have fired plenty of them among other weapons in my time.

    they nerfed sawed offs and they dont even need to be! its high risk high reward. not high risk low reward. trion obviously doesnt know how shooters should work

    Don't forget you can load a slug and be good for 100 yards!
    Also I think shotguns need a buff. I don't really find them useful in PVE compared with other weapons.

    I for one am happy about this change. When 90% of the PvPing community uses the exact same weapon / perks, it's time to have a look at what makes these so much better than the rest. All you people claiming to be PvP heroes here, need to realise there's not skill in sneaking up behind someone with cloak on, and then blasting him with your double barrel. :P

    The problem is not with Shotguns or with Cloak. The problem is when you combine the two and can easily 2 shot another player before they have a chance to turn around.

    I think the best solution to PvP is to remove all EGO abilities.

    While many people will hate this option, it is the best solution for balancing these PvP issues.

    With cloak its no risk, high reward. When i was running cloak+sawed, i had no problem get 3 EASY (enemies dont even knew about me and i was even able to run towards them and shoot them right in the face) frags per cloak. U wont even appear on radar while shooting from cloak...
    But nerfing only sawed shotguns solves nothing. In many situations are pump/burst shotguns better.
