As far as we know, they were NOT deliberately set off. They crashed to Earth during the Arkfall event when the Votan Arks exploded for an unknown reason part way through the war. Many of them fired off automatically with no pre-programmed control and ran wild. They messed up the Votan on Earth just as much as the humans.

    Holy backstory, I didn't know all of that. Guess I missed whatever tie-in media that was on. LOL. I had heard the deployment of the terraformers were accidental though, right?

    I give it a 6/10

    I agree with rathb18 in too much of the soap opera vibe. Pretty archetypal characters, some things feel forced, and some of the CGI was cringe-worthy (the car chase scene looked like a poorly made video game). Not all is bad, though. I like Nolan and Irisa, they saved the episode for me.

    I'll definitely keep watching though, it might just have a slow start but develop into a good show.
