i preorderd from gamestop and did not receive a beta code or any code for that matter is this a mistake?

If you preorderd from gamestop in person, it will be on your reciept as the "Product registration code".

If you preordered online, you should get a confirmation email from gamestop with the same "Product registration code"

Thank you, it was simply something that got taken out of hand when I responded to the initial post from Wargasm (which was truly the only real console war post).

Most of this wouldn't have happened if a simple "I'm looking into it..." would have been posted. Hell it should have been known already that consumers have a problem with situations that look like favorites are being played. So much for the hope that is was simply a typo on here.

No you'll receive a code for a stress test, not a beta, in your email eventually.

I think you're confusing "beta" with "demo". Stress testing is part of teh beta process

Actually, I think most of teh devs prefer the 360. I heard rumor that most of them run on the alpha servers with a 360, and like it's been brought up, the 360 prolly needs the least amount of testing because it's been being used as part of the alpha testing. Assuming this is all correct, most likely people are upset at not having much time to play a demo/get early access to the game. As opposed to needing to test various aspects of teh platform running the game.

Based on today's alpha livestream, it certainly does need more testing even if it is a primary platform. The beta test is still very needed.

I think Trion got it confused when they offered a beta for preordering, and instead are giving us a demo/stress test.

Based on today's alpha livestream, it certainly does need more testing even if it is a primary platform. The beta test is still very needed.

What issues were they having besides controls? Graphics shearing? That has to do with the graphics not being optimised yet, which no point in optimizing too heavilly while changes are being made hourly
