In all seriousness I get your point. Software cannot be in alpha and beta at the same time. The "alpha" testers natural became closed beta testers when the game entered beta.

Unless you work for Trion, then you have no idea why Xbox has 48 hours. There are plenty of reasons for this. If your entitled *** is hurt then maybe you should just wait until release or cancel your preorder anyway.

im just going to go pre order a crappy ps3 defiance so i can play the beta for 6 days and then on april 2nd pick up my defiance ultimate collectors edition for the xbox lol

I actually went to preorder the game today... and didn't because of bad service. Also I asked if they were giving out beta codes with preorders of defiance. The response... 'no codes'. I was like then 'no preorder' and left.

We are entitled. Many PAID FOR this "beta" with the expectation they would actually IDK have a beta at a time a date at least reasonably scheduled to allow players the chance to play. This is most certainly not for anyone except maybe ps3 users.

Actually, as someone who is an xbox player and was debating on getting the game on PC or xbox (PC I have to wait until upgrade my PC in the summer, xbox I can get it as soon as I have cash) I have to say that I am less than impressed by this. I've not been following this thread for the last twenty pages or so, so I will assume Sledge hasn't responded with much more than "I'm looking in to it," but I'm going to admit that I am a little annoyed.

Why I'm annoyed however is not because of the dates - I'm annoyed because there appears to be an error between what Sledge posted this morning and what he believed he posted. I'm not saying this is his fault, CM's are often the ones caught in the crossfire between the dev team and the torches/pitchforks at the gates, but it seems weird that he was confused by the dates in the livestream chat and yet posted such wildly differing dates on the forums without realizing or processing the difference.

Now, I can empathize with the complaints that the beta was a preorder incentive. I can also empathize with the problems there are with the dates of the beta. However, it's this inconsistency that cheeses me off a little. I would like to have some kind of response soon, even if it's just a "the dates are what they are and we aren't changing it." I don't even want an explanation - it's just confusing as heck.

I think this is gonna hurt the ps3 as well.The mass cancelations after the beta event will be misread by many.

as I have mentioned before until the beta PS3 has been the screwed over one.. we had no information on PS3 at all... was it beta ready *shrug* was it buggy *shrug* was it going to be delayed *shrug* could we see some video of ps3 play *shrug* does it suck that xbox isn't getting as long of a beta... yes of course it does. Do you really think Trion would scorn the xbox crowd just because... of course not its probably a limit on the MS side.
