Defiance: Advanced Mission Beta 3 Details

We are entitled. Many PAID FOR this "beta" with the expectation they would actually IDK have a beta at a time a date at least reasonably scheduled to allow players the chance to play. This is most certainly not for anyone except maybe ps3 users.

If you bought this game for the shear fact that you would get to play in the beta then you are by very definition not a beta tester and you shouldn't even have the opportunity to participate. You are to test. Another point I would like to make is no where, I mean NO WHERE, has Trion ever stated how long a beta would be or what type of testing is involved. The only thing they stated was that you would get to participate as a condition of the pre-order. A beta stress test is still beta whether it is 1 day or a week.

The way Xbox/Microsoft works and how strict they have become, this might not even be Trion's fault but as you maturity level is showing, you can't help but attack them instead. This thread is awful and it will be people like you that will ruin this forum community before this game even goes live.

Actually, as someone who is an xbox player and was debating on getting the game on PC or xbox (PC I have to wait until upgrade my PC in the summer, xbox I can get it as soon as I have cash) I have to say that I am less than impressed by this. I've not been following this thread for the last twenty pages or so, so I will assume Sledge hasn't responded with much more than "I'm looking in to it," but I'm going to admit that I am a little annoyed.

Why I'm annoyed however is not because of the dates - I'm annoyed because there appears to be an error between what Sledge posted this morning and what he believed he posted. I'm not saying this is his fault, CM's are often the ones caught in the crossfire between the dev team and the torches/pitchforks at the gates, but it seems weird that he was confused by the dates in the livestream chat and yet posted such wildly differing dates on the forums without realizing or processing the difference.

Now, I can empathize with the complaints that the beta was a preorder incentive. I can also empathize with the problems there are with the dates of the beta. However, it's this inconsistency that cheeses me off a little. I would like to have some kind of response soon, even if it's just a "the dates are what they are and we aren't changing it." I don't even want an explanation - it's just confusing as heck.

He responded a while back saying that if your playing on the Xbox 360 you can sign up to get a pc invite and that .

Hurm, so, essentially "the dates are what they are." Alright then - still strange, but I guess that completely nullifies my other post.

I like how most of the people assume the worst. It's not Trions fault, there's a reason why Xbox only has 1 day. It doesn't need a stress test because Microsoft is the one handling your server. Xbox is running this on a private server, unlike PS3 and the PC. The number of players are already determined on the Xbox. Don't take your anger on Trion. And they aren't giving the PC and PS3 more time because it needs more work, they're doing it because there servers are open, meaning while Xbox private server can hold 100 the PS3 and PC are holding 1000.

Wanted to chime in here about the different beta dates and lengths for our third and final beta event. Due to circumstances not entirely within our control, each platform has a slightly different start and end date. In the case of Xbox 360, our beta event happens on a Monday and a Tuesday (certainly non-ideal for folks who are working during those days.) We're hoping that everyone can queue up to download the beta in the morning when it goes live so we can all play together in the afternoon and evenings, but being realists, we realize this still doesn't work for everyone.

To help with that, we want to give PC beta codes to every Xbox 360 player who wants one. To make sure you get one of these codes, make sure you have made a Trion account at http://defiance.trionworlds.com and applied your Xbox 360 beta code to that account. A day or two before our PC beta goes live, we'll pull all those names and send you an email with instructions on how to get started in the PC beta - so even if you only can nab a couple hours on the Xbox 360 beta, you'll still get a taste of what Defiance is all about.

Why the ambiguous answer here? Why is the PS3 recieving 6 days of Beta acess while the Xbox 360 console will only be recieving 2. Now while you guys never stated any specific details about the length of the Beta's in each platform you offered each of them as a pre-order incentive and Xbox users clearly got the short end of the stick.
Many Xbox users choose to play the game on their platform because their Rigs couldn't handle it so a PC beta code wouldn't serve them any use. Not to mention the people who have busy schedules on Monday's and Tuesday's.

In all fairness this seems like shady buisness practice. This isn't the be all end all of the game, but this doesn't reflect well on the game's future with the Xbox 360.

What beeing mislead by a company and taking your bussiness elsewhere? Its called beeing a smart consumer. Where is our 1 week open beta that is the norm? Is it so hard just to just extend it and make everyone happy? Its not like the beta servers will self destruct after 2 days. They just leave them on and allow access for 5 extra days and BOOM debacle averted. But they probably won't.

no it wont make difference when u have a poor marketing team at trion they r hurting themselves no one else trying to get a new show off the ground and everything is that the way u treat the gamers that buy your product to put food on your table and clothes on your back well they aint going to get the sales they wanted thats for sure

I lol'd so hard. Yeah, most of us xboxers would play pc if we had decent computers, but it's nice to know you guys are trying to do something to quiet this mess. I'm not even mad (and I'm already in on the pc beta), but it's a good idea to try to quiet this mess.
