Ummm, just to make a point of order, calling anything "not normal" simply because it doesn't fit ones view/perception, doesn't make it factual, and can also be construed by some as obvious insult. I can think of many professions that have varying/dynamic shifts, not to mention "on call", that are more "normal" than your "normal" employment (aka: military, fire-fighters/rescue, law enforcement, etc).
That'd be like my saying, I don't perceive Joe Shmoe over there to be "normal" by MY standards/definition, there for it's a fact they are NOT normal... no, I just perceive them as not normal. Normal is a very "thin" definition anyways.
