Defiance: Advanced Mission Beta 3 Details

Most every beta I've done in the recent years for MMORPGs, once they hit open-beta all you have to do is make an account and don't need a code. Codes/invites only pertain to Alphas and Closed-Betas typically. oO Btw, none of the open-betas I've ever been in have wiped data, only closed.

Even if sites give out a million keys, each of those keys are still a "key" to "unlock" as an "invite" does the same (which to me still says "closed").

Hmm, not sure what games you have tested in this type of open beta, but seeing as I have tested about 8 games the past few years and play about 6, subscribing to 4, none of their "open betas", and they wee called that, worked this way. As I said, I know there have been some, more recently, that did this, but uh, I will not comment on the games quality per se, but these were not games of A, AA, or AAA quality. They were also ALL F2P games from the get go.

Semantics. An by that standard there are no open betas as they ALL require some form of registration...

Not the same thing. Typically an open beta requires registration of an account (same as what people would do after full launch). Even if you access closed beta you still have to register an account... just with open beta you don't need a "key" to "unlock" it because it's "closed"/"locked".

Its getting late here in the states maybe Trion will wake the heck up and pony up some actually betas for us instead of these "etas" So named because there too short to properly call betas. Can't understand what they were thinking in scheduling the 37 hour beta on a weekday for XBOXERS. Can't understand what they were thinking in giving only 2 days to any platform. Too short to provide either testing data or any kind of demo for prospective preorderers. In short WORTHLESS and POINTLESS are adjectives that sum up this nonsense.

That was great. It does not help that I just beat Gears 3 with my gf lol. I guess we will have to see what happens when Defiance launches.
