Defiance: Advanced Mission Beta 3 Details

Firstly I never said I was entitled to it because I paid. I said thoose who did are. Secondly I never "attacked" anyone in this thread over anything except there own flaming and poor arguments, which haven't improved much I see.

That said we are ALL entitled to a game that runs well on release and you can't very well have that without a decent beta now can you. I am allso entitled to know what it is I am buying before I pay for it. Reviews videos etc will never compare to actually playing the game yourself. And just because I am not an XBOXER does not mean I have no right to join them in there plight and argue for fairness. This isn't a court of law where you need standing to argue a case. If I see somebody getting a raw deal I'll call the other guy out over it because its the right thing to do. Like everyone in this thread would be doing if not for the selfish omg I got ps3 so I am fine so you can stop crying now attitude. Its really pathetic.



Clearly since the beta does not bother you, probably because your ps3 or got in on the earlier betas or alphas, and your posting in a thread which is intended for feedback on the announcement by posting garbage like this I think its pretty clear who is trolling whom. But its ok I'll just be over here waiting for someone to post an argument that even attempts to claim this "beta" is anything but a complete outrage and promptly shoot it down. Beeing right has its advantages. Its not really a debate when the situation is so obviously FUBAR. Case and point. If I wasn't allready correct about this beta beeing an outrage this thread would not be over 100 pages of ppl agreein on exactly that point. And if you don't care then your only reason to be here is to troll the thread.

Now I want to make it clear I don't want to argue, especially since you have one of my fav characters as your avatar, but I play Xbox and I'd be lying if I said I agree with the dates we Xbox players get as compared to others. Sure I don't know for sure if the developers were lying when they said that defiance was made primarily for the 360 first and then ported to the other two platforms, but the argument that our system has fewer bugs to fix is a good rationalization because of the info we were given.
But then again I don't really mind, Even with the argument that we are not beta testing to demo the game but rather to test for any bugs I will be basing my decision to get the game depending on this beta. Bugs or not I want to see if the game is as much fun to play as it is to watch.
To you Ctrain and the rest of my fellow Ark Hunters I say we just drop the argument for the sake of everyone here. Either way we will get to play to a degree and if we don't like it I hope that everyone can get their pre-order money back, if not take it to the BBB, but arguing among ourselves who ultimately have no say in how Microsoft or Trion does business is only going to break the community.

Now I want to make it clear I don't want to argue, especially since you have one of my fav characters as your avatar, but I play Xbox and I'd be lying if I said I agree with the dates we Xbox players get as compared to others. Sure I don't know for sure if the developers were lying when they said that defiance was made primarily for the 360 first and then ported to the other two platforms, but the argument that our system has fewer bugs to fix is a good rationalization because of the info we were given.
But then again I don't really mind, Even with the argument that we are not beta testing to demo the game but rather to test for any bugs I will be basing my decision to get the game depending on this beta. Bugs or not I want to see if the game is as much fun to play as it is to watch.
To you Ctrain and the rest of my fellow Ark Hunters I say we just drop the argument for the sake of everyone here. Either way we will get to play to a degree and if we don't like it I hope that everyone can get their pre-order money back, if not take it to the BBB, but arguing among ourselves who ultimately have no say in how Microsoft or Trion does business is only going to break the community.

Sorry, I just get really annoyed by the exhausting circular logic and obtusity of individuals (not just here, but in general) who constantly insult other people, then deny they've insulted anyone as soon as someone calls them out, then accuses the person that called them out of being the type of person to constantly insult other people.

My higher instincts tell me to go the idealistic route, as you did, but sometimes my lower instincts tell me jump in the trenches and fire off a few rounds, especially when diplomacy seems like a lost cause.

And Ctrain, I strongly disagree with almost everything you post, and I think the way you treat people is totally inconsistent with the way you expect to be treated, but I'm sure you don't see it that way, and no amount of back and forth bickering will change that.

Gotta love silver linings. Usually what I do to pass the time is just play games like Dragon Nest and Naruto. It's not the best but it will do.

I've been having way too much fun playing CTF on BF3. Mines and Javelins = flag attacker nightmare:-)

Last night I was pleasantly shocked to see that GoME added Saruman the White to their roster (which I didn't even know was happening), so playing around with a new character was fun.

I have Mini-Ninjas from Gamefly, but even though it's enjoyable, I'm just not interested in it right now.

Might edit some captured game footage today, before my backlog gets too big.

Skimmed thru 90it pages of this... I don't know what. Yeah, I am a 360 owner. Pre ordered the 100 dollar version. Do i feel like i am getting shafted? Yeah. I do. But then again, I did buy halo 4(waste), ghost recon(another waste), borderlands 2(waste), and far cry(waste). So theres some change i threw away in 2012. Who cares. I bought the special edition of battlefield 3 for the 360(yeah, the one that comes with the claymore, so i can set it up infront of the door, then when my girlfriend walks in, I yell boom at her) and premium as well. Ps3 uses got all the DLC a week before xbox users. Did anyone sue them? Naw. If the game sucks, Ill trade it in, did it with the games i mentioned before. Youve got to realize that the 360 is superior to all other platforms, we only need 30 minutes of beta time. So put your bigboy pants on, lace up your pretty shoes, and act like a damn adult. Yeah thiz was sent from my photon, and i dont care about spelling. Nor punctuation. Dealwithit.

It does show TRION ppl are seriously pissed and, hopefully, when they see that they will come to there senses and put the beta on a weekend. I don't really want to hear that they can't when they got allmost 2 weeks to do it. If you can't even schedule your own beta at a decent time I can't imagine how they plan to juggle things when they actually go live

Nearly 115 pages in this thread and no real word other that 360 users can get a PC invite. I don't want to test the game on PC, I want to test it on the Xbox and get a feel for how this is going to work on the Xbox.

I was really hoping that Trion would create some wiggle room for the 360. But someone, somewhere screwed up. Wether it was Microsoft (which I highly doubt.) or someone working on behalf of Trion really screwed the pooch on this.

I've lost all interest in playing this game on the Xbox. I am still interested in the game, but will most likely wait until a few months down the road. I want to see what type of sales this game receives, what types of discounts this game gets in a few months, and to see if this game gets ported over to next-gen. The whole reason I even pre-ordered was because I was under the impression that I would be a part of a beta test for the Xbox 360 version of Defiance, not some <37 hour server side test 48 hours before the retail launch. This puts a bad taste in my mouth as a consumer. As someone who understands how all this works I feel bad for everyone who preordered the game for the 360 in an effort to actually test the game on the 360 and not this little tease that Trion has doled out.

This is the type of poor marketing campaigns that do not drive sales for the product being sold. Sure I think Defiance will sell a few hundred thousand copies but I know that at least 1,000 sales have already been lost due to this. Yes, I am kind of just throwing that number out there, but if you consider the chain reaction of "and they'll tell 2 friends, and they'll tell 2 friends" you can see that 1,000 is a pretty realistic number. But I wouldn't be surprised if the number is really higher. Launching a new IP at the end of a console cycle with this little support is a huge risk for a company like Trion. New IPs at the end of a console cycle sink or swim pretty fast. Typically they sink really fast. I am worried about the 360 population and I am very concerned that the 360 will even need more than one server shard. Crysis 3 can't even maintain an average number of 1,500 players per day.

Just very concerned with how this game will survive the market. Poor marketing coupled with this con job of a beta test for 360 users has probably cost Trion a lot of sales. Very concerned that this game is going to fall hard on its face, hopefully there is not an embargo on reviews of this game. I would like to see what some of the review sites have to say a week before the game goes live. If there is not an embargo on the game that may be a good sign for Defiance. If there is an embargo on the reviews...watch out because every bad game has an embargo on their reviews until the day of launch.

True. They could at least not balatantly misrepresent the situation, Anything I have posted that could be construed as insulting has been equaled 10 fold by some of the garbage in this thread. So far I've been called just about every juvenile insult in the book and esp my favorite HITLER. I feel you. I am holding off till we get some real info on how they plan to resolve the situation before I do anything drastic though. If this stays as is then every gaming sight known to man will know about it by the end of the day tommorow. There would be no need to post anything untrue on thoose sites. A fair post detailing a very UNFAIR situation is all that is required. When the game goes live it will be review bombed over this as well by many I am sure. Its one reason you DON'T do things that you should know will make your costumers seriously pissed. Esp this close to release.

edit: Or they could IDK, EXTEND THE FLIIPIN BETA , whatever is getting in the way of that be dammed.
