TRION cancel the Beta please, so people can stop arguing please.

I would prefer they just cancel the 360 beta at this point. There is literally nothing to test within the time frame they are giving open testers. I actually track bugs, recreate bugs that I find. The amount of time I would have an opportunity to track any types of bugs down (especially since the on the surface bugs are probably known.) and recreate them in an effort to accurately bug track anything for the 360 is pointless. Not enough time to give Trion any type of special data.

I am sure the servers will be fine on launch day. No need to stress out the servers before they go live by doing the "beta event" on a weekend when traffic would be so much higher. Hahaha, who would want to ruin their brand new server before launch week, ahahaha. (Read these lines with a satirical laugh in mind.) Seriously though, cancel the beta, there is no point to do one for the 360 at this point. It would make more sense if the beta were either a week long or during the weekend, but no < 37 hours one week before launch. Trion will get all the data mined I am sure.

If the betas were of a reasonable length nobody would be that upset over abit of downtime.

This isn't meant as an insult! Honestly!

But I can 99% guarantee that if the betas were longer and crashed for awhile, there would be a 100 page thread of people having the exact same fight that we're seeing now, only instead of it being 'unfair treatment vs. it's just a beta, get over it' it would be 'broken game vs. it's just a beta, get over it'.

And if you made a post asking people to be patient and not to take it so personally, you would have someone telling you that you have no right dictating what they're allowed to be upset about, and that Trion promised them a beta, not a broken pile of garbage that they can't even play!

The first main point is that they can't cancel the beta without refunding every 360 preorder they have done since to not do so would constitute false advertising. You can't very well sell preorders with the offer of a beta invite for a nonexistant beta. Its great that you test for bugs but this is not the primary reason for the beta. Its allso about getting a test drive of the game before it goes live despite any claims to the contrary Trion may have made. Its not like they put guranteed betas invite on the preorder because they thought players would want to pay THEM to beta there game. No its all about early access.

GOW3 beta was nearly 5 weeks. Very few problems came about that put the beta down for maintenance. If the build they release for the final mission beta is a solid one very few issues should arise. The only real concern would be, can the servers handle the volume of new players. But Trion has failed to even properly test this by putting the 360 beta on MONDAY and TUESDAY! Fail, fail, fail, fail.

Oh and not to mention zero bugs will get tracked and reproduced during the 360 event as I mentioned in an earlier post.

Ah but your assuming an either or scenario. Why can't we have a BETA for 360 that is both longer AND not crashign every 5 seconds? I see no reason why not. And if its that unstable then just imagine live without a real beta. Either way you will have the complaints but at least after release we'd have servers that ran, hopefully.

No, to stagger the final betas allow them to have this sort of problem but one at a time as opposed to simultaneously.

It really just boils down to a schedule conflict since the beta was so late (I'd be more concerned about that than a short beta window myself).

I think you missed my point, what if when all of the servers are online together and due to network issues you get a problem that cascades down to each of the platform servers? Without a full network and server stress test this would not be seen until launch.

Now I am assuming the the different platform servers are on the same network, but I have seen problems of this nature in my line of work.

I just don't understand how you give 2 out of 3 platforms considerable more amount of time to beta test not only the servers but the game. I say this especially because everyone and their mother wants to see an MMO on Xbox. So who doesn't want an MMO to succeed on the Xbox platform?

Could Microsoft really be trying to ruin this game before it launches so that they can release a first party next-gen MMO title on the NeXbox? (All highly unlikely, but why on earth is the 360 beta when it is and how long it is, it's a slap in the face to anyone who wants to do any type of volunteer testing for Trion.)

Somehow in your mind you will try to justify how this isn't trolling. You may even really believe the part about me "flaming' everything that doesn't agree. I'd like to know this myself. As you say the times make no sense and they must at least believe they have a really good reason. Or they really think the beta is about anything other then early access to most of the buyers. Maybe in between the droves of haha you xboxers qqq mor ps3 troll posts we will get this question answered.
