Yes, I realize this, of course I do, I know what a beta is. What I'm trying to get across is that having beta access really shouldn't matter to anyone as a selling point. Most bugs will have hopefully already been found and fixed. It's my understanding that consoles aren't allowed to have patches released on the fly, and need to be tested and approved by the console manufacturer for quality control. I'm pretty sure that the 37 hour test at limited times is the best they could get from Microsoft. If I were Microsoft, I wouldn't want testing being done on live active servers during peak times. I'm betting this is only being done to fulfill the pre-order obligations.
I really don't understand what the big deal is...you get in briefly to play the game early, but you'll be reset on day 1 anyway, and you're going to be able to play for free from now until the servers shut down.
edit - seems like it was a correct assumption, just saw a post by sledge affirming it's not in their control. Things like this occur when you're releasing multi-platform.
Indeed; what's even funnier is the fact they already admitted yesterday they haven't pre-ordered or paid for anything... even said they believe Defiance is going to bomb and are just staying around to laugh and gloat when it supposedly does.
Example:
S · I · M · I · L · A · R ---†--- C · R · E · A · T · U · R · E · S
Just because you can't handle the truth... doesn't mean somebody is trolling!
