    Chat pads do not work in mmo games, or games with text chat. Tried that years ago playing FFXI. You will need a pc keyboard whether it be wireless or usb, your choice lol, but you can get them for bout 20$ or less just for a basic, generic keyboard.

    Chat pads were just that, chat pads for xbox messaging, and possbily browsing on the dashboard or searches. Not the games sadly, if it worked theyd have made a fortune from it, but they failed. Also i will add that i tried it on phantasy star online. Which required me to get my usb keyboard out once again lol.

    There is no area voice chat, just a typing chat. You can voice chat with people you are grouped with.

    Wow im am in all honesty.. shocked. A game that is allowing the chatpad lol. But there is in game chat for proximity, groups and other various things as well. So its not just text chat. Also you still have option of party chat via xbox party.

    I too like this idea but wait until you run into someone trying to use their kinect as a mic (you can hear everything in their house and it doesnt matter what your mic volume is at your ears are going to bleed!)
