Just hit 3000 ego... Anyone else 3k+ yet?

Wow this community is awful. What the hell is wrong with everyone? As soon as they realize that someone has more ego than they do they immediately start the trash talk. Get over it, some people are better than others and advance quicker. Full of butthurt kids here. Just because someone is better than you does not make them a no life/fat nerd or w.e the insults were. I'm at 558 ego atm lol you don't see me raging just because people are higher than me

While I think some of the trash-talking is out of hand, I do think 'better' is the wrong word here. Or misapplied, I guess. Better at what, exactly? Killing a mob and running off? Abusing the system for maximum EGO gain as if this is the great race to endgame like other MMOs (here's a hint, it isn't - the content doesn't change at 5k EGO).

So while it's interesting to see who's grinding/exploiting out the highest EGO they can, it's not a sign of being particularly good at the game (you don't even have to be a good shot with a gun) - just at abusing it for gains.

I know this is off-topic...but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out why print screen wasn't giving me anything more than a black screen when I pasted it into windows paint.

I never thought to turn off "Full Screen" mode.

If you have steam you can use that to take screenshots. If you don't, you can get it for free, and add defiance to it.

Online games haven't had as bad and immature community such as Defiance's since WoW Barrens chat.. Even free2play games have a more friendly, helpful player base.. Sad, isn't it? Great game though!

The point is if someone posts something like this on ANY new online game, it's going to generate the same responses regardless how "mature" the community is.

Good god and I thought I was doin ok at 2.1k...that's 185 hours so far for me. LOL.

So either these guys found one hell of an exploit or they have played 24 hours a day every day since launch.

By no means is this easy neither, it requires heavy duty grinding that most sane people would tire of quickly.

185 hours is 7 days, and 17 hours. The game has been out for 13 days. Your implying that you have been playing this game well over 12 hours a day. Hopefully you are exagerating a little lol. I am just hitting around 700 and can honestly say I have played around 50 hours. Only very little of that is from pursuits. If you have the time to play that much than you deserve to have that high rating. : )

I don't see what all the hate is about. She asked a question. She didn't say "Haha, look at me I'm 3k, you newbs can suck it." She asked a question. I'd be proud of being ego level 3000. That's a real accomplishment. Does it MATTER if she has more free time than you? Does it matter if she had help? Does it matter if she's the best player EVER or not? No, she just wanted to know if anyone else was 3k, and to see where the general front line was at.

You will never know how anyone else' life goes, without getting to know them. Assuming all of these negative things about her, simply because she has a lot of free time to play is silly. Maybe she has a bunch of free time to play because she is filthy rich, and just happens to be an enthusiastic gamer. Maybe she can't really do much because she's handicapped, and her outlet is a video game instead of drugs. You don't KNOW.

There's nothing wrong with long play sessions as long as someone is taking care of themselves, and that's between them, and their circle of support and loved ones. I realize that people are still going to assume. We are online, there will be ALL kinds of folks, including jealous and spiteful ones.

And normally, when someone's sitting there bragging about how amazing their are, and the community lets them have it, I'm all for joining in. But ALL she did, was ask a question.

To Katie specifically, congrats. That's an impressive achievement. Good job, and I hope you continue to enjoy the game.
