I'm hoping they are delaying it to adjust the level of stupid in some of the path.
Like removing the nerf to Sawed Offs!

"I guess we were just born to booze."
this patch thats due isnt one of the in-game press A to patch ones, its a title update (what they should have called it since EVERYWHERE else calls it this, at least on the xbox they do). yes you folks are correct, for in-game patches they do not need certification from Microsoft or PSN, but for title updates? yes they need it certified, hence why the producer has been saying for a while that its in certification
patch notes are huuuge, happy about almost everything in there (especially the gun nerfs) hopefully makes the rest of the game a bit tougher
No patch or notice of servers going offline yet...made sure i beat the campaign before sawed offs got nerfed. Couldnt imagine taking on nim without my trusty sawed off and combat shotgun taking slices of health out of him. Cant wait for this patch though dont care about it having content, care about it fixing a ton of random things. Surprised we havent seen a notice yet, usually theyve been posting server downtimes at least an hour prior. You would think they want to have it done by 4/5ish ET. As long as its not delayed a week ill be happy.
If I remember well, Sledgehammer said they could delay the patch forward one or more days if they weren't able to be ready for the 15th April. So just wait for an official date of patch release

Incorrect.
Microsoft have strict rules in which ANYTHING which is available to download through Xbox LIVE must go through 'screening' or a check list of some sort.
Server side updates and patch's aren't effected by this for obvious reason, but when it comes to the general public downloading a patch from XBL, it has to be confirmed first.
