How does it premiering in the evening vs the morning make it more reasonable for the patch to be a day after? The premise was, not simply some throw away ties in, but content released concurrently with the show. That, is not concurrently. If they have been sitting on this patch for weeks, months even, and have more made to be released, then what reason would they have to delay it?
The patch will be released whenever they are ready. Most devs and the like are just as excited about a big patch as we are, it usually marks an end to a bunch of old complaints and issues, while sometimes making way for NEW complaints and issues. It is entirely possible the patch won't release today though. They said they would try to get it out by the 15th, but it could possibly be a day or two after as well.
I'm looking forward to it too, so I understand the anticipation. And there's definitely no harm in asking.

A lot of MMO's have been using the pre-load concept for years for holiday events and the like, which can be enabled live without having to reboot the servers nor requiring a New Client patch.
The Client patch 1.010 is a bugfix patch, not a content patch.
Those kinds of things are exactly why I don't see why they would delay it. The issue with content being patched in this game has nothing to do with it working or not, rather the content being done and released with the show. Pretty sure the have multiple patches they have applied that will be released slowly to us vs. them rushing out patches to release content to please the masses and make money.
Will Europeans get it the same time, or will we have to wait until tomorrow (or later) to coincide with the broadcast of the show?
It's a bugfix patch, not a content patch. It needs to go up 11 days ago.
The thing is people will want a date because like me I won't play till they fix the bugs and glitches... Coz I can't increase my EGO but that means I'm wasting the weeks boost that was rewarded...
IF it's primarily a bug fix patch, then they could have implemented it days ago, and should have. That makes it a little more suspect of them wanting to wait until the release of the show. Maybe they're hoping that if they screw something up, they can fix it while a decent percentage of people are caught up in the show. >__>

"Client patches are difficult beasts to handle. Small with isolated fixes can be deployed somewhat rapidly but if they are serious client patches, like srsly serious, it’s a huge effort. One of those is scheduled to hit Monday or Tuesday for PC and XBOX 360 and as soon as possible for PlayStation 3 following that (it’s logistics, I can’t change it). We’ve been doing our best to get it into your hands as soon as possible, therefore the discrepancy."
Of course these forums, being da forums, translated "Monday or Tuesday" to mean Monday, the 15th. Trion traditionally rolls out big patches at 8am or 10 am Pacific time. IF they want the show to be aired prior to the patch then the most likely date/time would be Tuesday at 8AM PT.
No matter when the patch goes live, some will complain it's too late as they have already seen the show and some will complain it's too early as the show doesn't air in THEIR country until the 18th (I'm looking at YOU, Australia).
