Adding a FPS mode to the game will seriously hurt the PvP, PC players will have a HUGE advantage over console payers.

And adding FPS seem.. well, redundant

Besides, I believe on of the sales arguments was that it was a third-person-shooter, actually it would be more stupid than redundant.

Why is that relevant? it's not like PS3 users are currently playing with Xbox and PC users. Every platform has got it's own server.

Seriously though, I think the game is better the way it is, the way we have mobs running all around us it's better to have that slight view advantage you get from tps.

Is a matter of accuracy.

It make perfect sense use a third person view if you use a sword: a slash will make damage allaround the player; but since this game use fireweapons you should be able to make an headshot with a pistol to an enemy distant 50 mt.

Is not the problem to turn all games in Fps but to have a visual that is more efficent with that kind of weapon.

Until a couple of years ago I played almost rpg and strategic games, than I discovered Borderlands and the multiplayer of COD ( the story mode is awful for all people that came from rpg ) once you get used to first person you can do incredible things, action become a lot faster.

Since Bloodwicht came out on Commodore 64 there were some "FPRPG" both on pc and consoles, I don't think first person should be banned from rpg but to be honest I'm new on MMO since I do not like play on pc ...

PS3, XBOX and PC play on separate servers anyway so wouldn't matter. I personally prefer the controller over a mouse any day.

For just now, the plan is to have pc v ps3, pc v pc, and pc v 360, they actually want us all with/against each other but the console company(s) said no

Are all first person view, I do not think that adding one view option will transform a good game in a bad one.

Since Doom success the market has been invaded by mediocre first person shooter, even COD story mode seem an old laser disc game, I can agree with that.

But Defiance still have a strong shooting component ( otherwise there will not be things like chain kill ) and I think that use the weapon aim is better than a cross on the screen.

I would rather it NOT gain an FPS perspective. Truth be told, I'm SOOOOO sick of FPS games that I could puke. If you wanted to add anything to the game, keep the third person perspective with an added sticky-cover feature like GoW or Mass Effect. I believe that would allow the TPS aspect of the game to really shine. Just my 2 cents.
