Because Rambo, and Crysis.

Though completely unnecessary, especially with the "special" mission weapons we get, there's variety.

Has nothing to do with Rambo or Crysis for me.. I just like Bows.. How can you assume everyone likes bows based only on modern examples of entertainment.

I would approve of bows ONLY if they aren't like the bows in Crysis or FarCry. And if people understand that it's not going to deal near the damage of a sniper or magnum pistol. They shouldn't be super strong, and if they do explosive attacks, it would have to be fairly weak, so as not to replace detonators or RL.

EDIT: Not to sound like I'm the guardian of the gate of all that enters Defiance, I just get real into these things.

snipers are used to snipe, a bow is most effective when hitting the throat, lungs, or heart.

besides, a bow has less range, and power, than a sniper rifle. and I'd like to keep it that way. Especially compared to something like the Derailer or magnum pistol.

The force just isn't there. A bow doesn't blow the head off from a neck shot. It just doesn't.

Sniper rifles have confirmed kills beyond 2,000 yards.

Longbows are ineffective beyond 200-270 yards (but modern hunters prefer 50-70 yard shots from what I've been able to discern).

Crossbows are ineffective beyond 35-50 yards.

Another thought, 500 would be too high, the semi auto AR only does 400, and the semi auto SR do 700. It would need to do like 300 dmg

i agree a bow shouldnt be added to the game at all its defiance not crysis or farcry v.v
