A monarch? really... uh huh... That would fall under making melee weapons way more powerful than they should. Go play Fallen Earth if you want that in a game. The one handed sword deals more damage than a shotgun in that game.

and on that note, if you want an MMO with swords and such, Warface has a good ninja feel to it.
Certain weapons are better for certain arkfalls, and sometimes for specific stages. For the minor hellbug arkfalls which you need to hit weakspots, wolfhound works wonders. For mass killing hellbug arcfalls, replacing the rifle with a BMG works way better, if only to chain wipe all the tiny bugs.

I love all the reta/rds in this thread thinking bows are synonymous magic and instantly adding that type of weapon will make this a fantasy MMO. BRB putting my wizard cape n hat on Prophet because he's holding a bow in Crysis 3! lolololol. ****ing idiots complaining about a bow, it'd just be another sniper (psssssst, like in every future/modern game that has a bow). Two others that come to mind a BF3 and FarCry 3.
