This is flat out incorrect Yokai. lol

I was going to praise you for your continued service as a gamer. Im surprised you said you own every console but never played Mike Tyson's punch out or paper boy or even Mario Bros. Maybe not all these titles but you said you never played them.

But you also said you were a PC guy. Commodore 64?

My dad was the first Horde Druid to get full T2 8/8 in WoW on our server when he was 60. I was very proud. He put in the time and figured it out @ 60 on a PC with WASD controls and damage meters, healing meters all that jaz. Everyone was really impressed that an "Old Fart" my dads words, could accomplish such a great thing.

But this information you say that if you can't beat nim you can't do any of the side missions is just flat out wrong.

The map is littered with side missions all the way leading up to this mission.

Once completing Nim you will unlock a few more side missions. These will be the ones you dont have access too. ALL the others are available with each completion of the main mission quest line.

So i ask politely not to spread false information to rally people behind a fake cause.

Nim is tough. But not impossible. He can be slown down to make him easier to avoid through bio grenades, BMG's, Infectors, or any weapon with the slow effect on it.

If anything were to change I think opening up solo dungeons for co-op would be the best solution.

It keeps the difficulty of saying you solo'd Nim. It releases some of the stress by those who struggle to find comfort in their friends and family for help.

Like i said before. My wife plays Defiance and has asked me to help play as her in solo mission dungeons. I always make her try it once before i try it for her. So i get where your coming from. Nim and her would be game breaking. But I know if she kept at it she would be able to pass him.

So the solution isn't a nerf but to open up these solo only dungeons for groups.

    It makes everyone happy. imo

i had a little trouble with Nim i have to admit. but i was using the overcharge, a pistol, and a threeshot rocket launcher. so maybe i was asking for a hard time? lol (nuke his clones as they spawn, much less difficult dealing with just him and one clone)
but, the npcs warn you before you go after him "hes got like, one godlike ego system right?" (not verbadum)
i agree with many on the "NEVER STOP MOVING/ROLLING/DODGING!!" because he is indeed one strong b-****.

however: making him weaker overall would ruin the challenge for everyone. so in addition to the grouping idea, perhaps set a difficulty setting for this one? im of the opinion the dev responsible for this one was going for a tpkr (total player kill run) for a reason.

Trust me, as long as the Nim mission is still "active" all your side missions disappear from the map. You must abandon the mission entirely to make them reappear on your map. Not false; true.

So you either have to keep re grinding the Nim phase until you finish the mission, or you need to abandon the mission entirely, which means the next time you have a long enough block of time you must redo all the preliminary driving through SF checkpoints, clearing out the upper levels of the tunnels, etc.

If you don't abandon the mission, you can keep retrying from the start of the Nim fight itself when you find a block of time.

In my case and my spouse's case, this means an entire week when we cannot see or do any side missions to kill time. We only have large enough blocks to attempt Nim on Weekends.

You can see rampages, races, hotshots, etc just fine. But the side missions are gone.

    I can confirm this behavior.

Yokai is correct. You can only have one mission at a time, whether it be Story, Episode, or Side. You would have to abandon the mission and run through it entirely from the beginning again. And, if like he is, you are pressed for time, this means you cannot progress.

As an aside... Trion has stated that they do not want to gate content and allow everyone to progress. Granted, this was said about DLC content, but the theory and practice should apply to the base game as well. If a segment of the player base cannot progress past Nim, be it for physical restrictions (arthritis, slower reflexes, etc), life restrictions (job, travel, etc), or just plain repeated bad luck, then Nim is a blocking gate for any further Story progression in the game for those people.

So really, I just want Trion to stick up for their promise not to gate story content.

No its not a logical reason to nerf a boss because some **** can't figure out he needs to run to the other side of the room and not stand in front of NIM when he does charge attacks....

Ive killed nim about a week ago but I must admit he needs to be nerfed big time. This fight is more annoying than fun and takes a lot of shine off the game. Im all for challenge but I wouldn't be surprised if people quit the game out if frustration. Same with hotshot sharpshooting saviour, which is far mire catered to PC players than console...both need nerfed asap to avoid people punching walls and tossing controllers.

BMG and weapon of choice. Trust me its not that hard. The only thing i've ever considered OP is Mike Tyson from Punch-Out!! Now thats impossible to beat more than once in a life time..

took me about 30mins to kill him from start to finish without reading any strategy guides and whatnot. If you've ever raided in an MMO before he should be pretty simple. Incorporates the basic raid strats of dodge stuff and los stuff. I think the total script i used was ~1500. The 3rd phase was probably the easiest of them all. I used the purple fully auto assault rifle you get from the story line(EMC xar-22). I also pretty much tried to take him down as fast as possible instead of the BMG him to death approach)

Its actually undertuned in my book because you can just zerg it, you don't have to restart the fight(is this even intended?)
    The rewards are bleh

Ego 555 and ive completed all the missions(main and side) solo.

Then they're gonna have a hard time finding a game that doesn't frustrate them.
