I will be out in the world of defiance doing my thing, get into some fun and start shooting people picking up loot as I go, when i pick up a gun, shield or grenade the thing automatically switches to my main load out. Man this has frustrated the crap out of me when I am in a groove with my lmg and the next thing you know im blasting away with a pistol.
Is there a setting anywhere to turn off the auto equip on loot?

Yep did this for the 1st couple of days. Initially I assumed that the game was saying this was a better weapon than the one I had equipped until I had blue/purple weapons and it was swapping them out for white/green. So I just started tapping x as I could not believe a game would have auto swap ad a default setting and hey presto it worked.
Like all the other said tap x don't hold.
Yeah, just tap X and you're gold. I played a bit yesterday morning and I was getting all sorts of gear drops and I wouldn't been completely lost if each of them replaced my current loadout.
Entitlement is the opposite of enchantment.
