pray tell how they would go about doing that... no really I'm curious, you see I am from Australia and I have to play on the NA server, as I'm sure other non-american countries also have to, so please do tell me how they can single out every single country and when the show airs so that they can tailor the quest availability when there are ONLY TWO SERVER REGIONS.

just enabling it on the EU server is unfair to non americans on the NA server because they not only have to wait but also don't get any extra time to finish the quests, if you enable it on both servers then everybody continues to ***** just like they do now because the americans get extra time after the episode airs to do them.

there is no winning solution, best thing to do is to make it the same time for everyone and link it to the first airing of the program, that way it's always available before the episode and nobody gets extra time, if your airing is later then tough luck, you still at least know the deadline because you can follow the official airing.

oh and yes, many MANY people have suggested that trion is throwing away content and that despite it not being confirmed or denied they are never gonna bring back the episodic content, just because it's tied to the episodes doesn't mean it'll never return, as so many people have pointed out there will be re-runs, so it stands to reason that the episodic content will get its own re-runs,

people just need to understand that for the time being removing the content is the best for the game and the show, it gives them a synced timestream, and there is no point sacrificing that when you can have your cake and eat it too, I don't see many people saying they should lock the content down forever, just at least let them do it during seasons of the show.

you see it makes sense to lock the content during the season to preserve the timeline, but between seasons there is little sense in it because for all intents and purposes the shows timeline is AFK, if Trion is at least half competent they already understand this and have a plan for ways to bring the content back (I've already given my suggestions on how).

and even if they don't plan to bring it back ever again (waste of resources IMO though), you'll get new missions and a constantly evolving world, things you miss out on in the past are for all intents and purposes fantasy, your character exists after those things so they didn't get to participate. look at it like this, I'm sure I would have enjoyed going to any number of amazing performances in history, but I wasn't born until the 20th century so I don't get to, I can still read about them and even get recordings, but I can never be there for them, and yet it's fine because I'll be here for whatever is to come.

I got the game yesterday hoping it would be new tabula rasa or at least a mmo for xbox without elves. watched the show its horrible drivel like a cheap version of stargate not planning to watch that again. good news is if they gonna remove content as the show progresses and force me to do those identical missions (yes i didn't like rift events) then im gonna go to gamestop and sell the game ( no code = anyone can play second hand copy). seriously the show was awful

I just think that it is a misuse of resources - making throw away content instead of giving new players a chance to catch up and delve into the back story
    Here's what others missed:
    -Ugly Nolan outfit
    -Ugly Irisa outfit
    -Obsolete Purple AR
    -A couple lousy cutscenes

Honestly you whiners need to get over yourselves. I've seen other MMO companies base the entire item structure off time-"exclusive" items. Be thankful that one of those companies didn't make Defiance.

I swear every-day, there's something new for you whiners to complain about.

Oh, it was THAT story arc, and not the main one with Von Bach and the black dude. Anyway, I did complete that story arc, but I was disappointed that there were very few references to the game's story line, in the show. The only relevant part was the final mission, when Nolan and Irisa make off with the crystal and you see it in the show, when they use it to get the Terrasphere.

Everything was just shoot-em up candy toward the final mission.

Also, WTF was with that roller they had in the show. If I recall correctly, they rolled off in the game in an unarmed Cerberus, and in the show they appear in a crappy buggy.

    What happened to their Cerberus?

Did they get it stolen from under them, like the roller they had in the show?

For every returned copy of Defiance an orphan finds a home and somewhere, someone, is cured of cancer. Oh wait that actually doesn't happen, I just thought you wanted to feel important.

Exactly, yet people are whining on about how they "missed so much".

firstly, you already decided to leave over what amounts to less then 30 minutes of mediocre questing, less if you really did hate the show.

secondly, the content isn't being locked to avoid spoilers to non Americans, it's being taken out and replaced with content relevant to the next episode to create a consistent timeline that governs both the game and show, so that those that are interested in the show get something great and those not get a side quest every week, nothing they won't get elsewhere anyway.

lastly, I'm not alienating you, you're talking about hating the show in a thread about the game, and then going on to ***** and moan because you'll lose access that is only relevant or worthwhile to those that do like the show.

if you would honestly abandon the entire game over less then an hour of content that you by all means would hate (something I wouldn't put past you considering your vile attitude) then you've already alienated yourself, good job.

I know, it was one of the most stock missions in the game and the only thing it has going for it is the show tie-in, and the only impact that has on the actual show is about ten seconds of reference total.
