Removing Episode Missions to Coincide With Show Will Kill This Game

I love the concept and I think they are on the right track. There is definitely opportunity for tweaking and maybe instead of dumping the episode quest the day the next episode airs maybe give it a week lag. So folks who still want to see how the missions tie into the most recent episodes can still do so. Either way I don't mind just tossing another idea out there that might appease the masses as a whole.

Yeah, SyFy always shows its shows in original order anyhow so they could even do a special promotion prior to the debut of season 2 next year. Still kind of throws the timeline out the window, but it's a decent compromise.

They did actually confirm that it would be removed by the 15th. The fact that it went live on the second and doesn't take long to do them put it's solely on the person for not doing it in the 2 weeks they gave.

And yet due to Production issues, and Namco Bandai being just plain useless, a lot of people didn't get the Game until the 11th or 12th. Also the show is not in real time, it is set in the future. A lot of countries aren't even getting the show yet, so how does not removing the older episode missions ruin that tie in feature? They are the only ones that are not replayable simply by driving past where they happen.

Removing the episode missions is stupid.

Just to throw my hat into the ring here. I'm surprised (ok... not really that surprised) that people couldn't figure out for themselves that these EPISODE missions would be replaced with the new... EPISODE.

Putting aside the fact that there was plenty of forewarning, did you seriously need a grand announcement to piece this together?

And, just to repeat what others have said, every MMO has temporary content. WoW had a fun little easter egg hunt on easter. If you didn't log in during the event, you missed it. Its as simple as that.

Defiance, instead of only having holiday events, has weekly events that coincide with the show. I think its awesome. And seriously, if you couldn't finish those... what, 3 missions? in the time they gave you, then clearly it wasn't terribly important to you to begin with.

And Yet We don't have the show yet. will all these episodic missions be added again later so those of us in NZ can play them again in the order they tie in with the show?

As has been stated by some, The episodic missions disappear once you have played them, keeping them around for those who buy the game late, received the game late because of Trion's choice of Distributor for outside the states, or simply because the show does not air at the same time in every country around the world, does not harm any thing, especially since the show is not in real time.
