I played the Episode Missions before the Pilot aired. There was plenty of time to get on board and do just that. That being said, new players are going to be missing out on the prequel before the first episode airs but they will get to participate in any missions leading to 2nd TV episode and beyond.

It really should be seen as no different than missing a TV episode. During one of the Comic Con panels, the developers did mention they would bring the Mission Episodes back for people to play after the TV season ends. This is an experiment and to them it is important to see how many people will play the Episodes in a timely manner. This is because for Season 2, they would like to have the Game playing between episodes possibly effect minor things in the TV series on more interactive basis.

I will inevitably create another character when they release new races. Honestly, it kind of sucks that what my other characters do doesn't affect subsequent characters normal content, but at least the episode content will be limited to a timeframe so that I can get a little continuity going on with the show.

FYI the episode missions are not very important so the new players don't have to worry.

The game uses phasing for missions so there is no excuse on why the missions have been removed, for older players it doesn't matter since they have done them, newer players who also have an interest in the TV show may want to see how the game links into the show....nope can't do that.

Also can anyone link the post where the devs said the content will be removed or hinted at it?, havnt seen an such links yet.

With the launcher I play from the UK, the launcher I have from steam doesn't show dev posts if I recall correctly, haven't played last few days.
it was hinted at in the launcher (in a way) and if you use the dev tracker you can find the post specifically stating it will be removed yourself.

and I find the idea that less then an hour of mediocre content is better then a media spanning and consistent timeline to be ignorant.

people constantly ***** that the world never changes, it happens to every MMO, and yet when the world does change they get up in arms about, I'm all for not getting rid of content, but using specific content creatively is better then just leaving it to stagnate.

See that is an acceptable alternative, As you say it's like missing an Episode of a Show, Even though you can record episodes on HDD recorders, or VHS if you are really old school, or watch the one your friend recorded which kind of ruins that analogy. But anyway, so bringing the missions back into rotation after the season is like a rerun.

Are you kidding me? First people complain when they found out that the game won't impact the first season of the show(no ****, the season was finished before the game was released), and now people are complaining when episode missions are removed for new episode missions when a new episode is aired. Plus it's not like you missed anything. You can watch a walkthrough on youtube, and it's not like the rewards are that spectacular.

see, I don't think it's at all like missing a TV episode, it's more like not understanding a lone reference out of a whole episode...

Episode missions that appear and are removed to coincide with events in the show is the point of the game and the show sharing the same world. What part of that didn't you get?

Well my point was that in MMOs, people far too often classify content as solely being a quest, an area, or some other discreet "thing."

The point I was trying to make is that there can be a broader definition of content in an MMO.

Seasonal content/live events very much have a place in MMOs. I see no difference here with the weekly removal of episodic content as the removal of seasonal event content.

And the content here is that we get a changing world.

That's a fair point and I hadn't considered that. I suppose if you played the Episode content with a second character it would be as though your old character and your alt got off the Stratocarrier at the same time but somehow never met. Though presumably that would be no or more less grating (continuity wise) than having to take back KTAM again
