They didn't change that until the 12th. Okay fine. So three day leeway on your "point".

WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU JUST DO THE MISSIONS?

If you wait to talk to your Mother in the hospital and she dies, do you blame the hospital?

    NO.

Stop blaming other people for your chronic laziness!

no need to make up stories, it was not the 12th.
    I'll clarify.

A; It was the 12th. Want to know how I know? Because I paid attention to the game unlike you. On the 11th, they added a sticky to this forum saying the boosts were given out. The morning after, THE 12TH, they updated and changed the patcher, so those who don't browse the forums would know.

    B; I'll repeat myself:

WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST DO THE MISSIONS IN THE FIRST PLACE? WHAT MYSTICAL THING STOPPED YOU FROM DOING THEM IN ONE RUN?

I'll remake the same analogy. If your mother was given 1 month to live from 9pm, and you waited to visit her until the 30th day in the morning at 9 am and she was dead, do you blame the hospital?

    NO. YOU BLAME YOU.

Removing missions separates the community, from those who know what happened before the episode and those who got there within 7 hours of the show airing (when it was taken down) and those who run out to get the game after watching the show.

We already are separated by platform. Even the live stream Across the badlands show separates people even more, if you watch in Canada at least the show will still be on while the stream is happening, also if you PVR and want to watch later everything in Defiance CURRENTLY seems to be working against that. This is not the early 90's where technology was lacking for the majority.

Also it would have been great if we were told ahead of time the game was geared towards hardcore players only, even the GM I spoke with today said the way things are setup only the more hardcore players are going to experience everything.

Let's face it you are going to have to only play Defiance if you are a casual gamer that can only play 2-3 hours here and there to access 70% of the content, doesn't seem very fair.

While that's not the biggest issue and not being able to play a lot is a personal problem, still lol. I mean I could take my time with all sorts of MMO's knowing the only content I miss out on if I don't rush to do it would be seasonal non-story linked events.

Maybe they couldn't do the missions because they were visiting her, knowing that it's just a video game and you can come back to it when you have time.

If you really don't see the difference between the situation in your analogy and doing missions in a video game you need an injection of perspective, like, now. Not everybody has a lot of time to pour into the game, that doesn't mean they shouldn't eventually have a chance at the same experience. Trying to make it match the currently airing episode of the TV show isn't really necessary, either; I work 2nd shift, so I don't get to see any show when it airs. Ever. Lots of people here saw it days early. Some who want to still haven't seen it.

Compound that with there being literally no change to the game that makes the areas and enemies from those missions invalid, so why remove them?

I did complete them. A while ago. There's no reason people who can't play as much as me should be left out.

1 simple, and business like, problem, Trion is, in effect, telling anyone that if they did not play from the start they do not deserve to have all the content. Now I have 2 chars and I believe they're planning on adding other races as time progresses, so when we make our other chars they're SOL, just like anyone who comes in later. Can't ever get the titles, the outfits, none of it.

Then there's the people who are running into the bugs with these. I've sat, well sat driven run between 2 spots listed for this stinking Protect Pilgrims from Raiders near Madera or Sausalito for two days without it spawning in either spot, and I play 16 - 19 hours at a run. So when the timer runs out and Trion hasn't fixed the problem anyone who had a bug mess up theirs is SOL too.

None of this is good business to attract new players, or viewers, it's what you call counter productive. If you're going to pull stuff out, nerf the heck out of weapons, and start charging more and more for content and fluff you do this AFTER a game is established, and if you really want to try you only do it AFTER the ship starts sinking when you know you're losing it and want to grab every buck out of it you can.

Great post, so f'ing true too! I drove all around looking for pilgrims looks like people are going to have issues completing these new pursuits that are also timed.

This is getitng a bit ridiculous.

You can't put a timer on ANYTHING until it is working as intended 100%

    Definitely counter productive.

    Good post man!

    It's an analogy. A comparison.

There's a thing you have to understand about this situation that nobody seems to be able to grasp because they want the world to be equal.

1; MMO culture involves time-sensitive releases. You either have to plan for it, or you miss it. That's that.
2; There is a culture revolving around video gaming. These people eat, drink, sleep, and game. They do everything that is required in the game, because that's who they are. They deserve exclusives, because it's what they do. It's like a tenure bonus at a club or something. If you've been at a golf club for 4 years, and they give you a special jacket, there's no reason the new guy should get the same jacket just because he complained.
3; Life isn't fair. You miss out on things. You're allowed to be upset, but complaining and whining to be equal doesn't look mature, and doesn't solve anything, it just annoys some who would even agree with your opinion.
4; It's not so hard to look something up you may have missed. I would understand being upset about missing exclusive outfits, but missing "exclusive" information; while it's available all around the web, doesn't make much sense to me. I never got to experience early WoW events because I couldn't afford a monthly fee at the time. Is that the developers fault? No. Is it mine? No. I've looked up what has happened in those events. Sure I wanted to be a part of them, but I won't complain because I understand, sometimes you don't get what you want.

    HOWEVER.

As TimeViewer posted, there are currently new Time-Sensitive pursuits that are flat out bugged. If those are removed before they are fixed, I will be livid. Because that's a bug, and it's similar to the GW2 event. In THAT situation, we deserve to have compensation or the content returned.

In THIS situation, there was no bug, only human error.
