Where does it stand that they would be removed ?
Could this warning be interpreted as warning for those people that could or where even interested in the show to have the quests done so they did the pre before the launch.

The fact that MMO's do season stuff is the main reason i stop playing them , GW2 had the same stupid gimmick play our game NOW or miss out.If your very busy or your health is not good you will missing out and that feels bad.It might be that i am very into freedom that makes me more sensitive to subjects like this dunno?

Cynical fact is that people that did the quests tell others not to complain.

I still wonder what genius thought this subscribers carrot on a stick in would fit nice in a Buy to Play , gamers get older and have busy lives, gaming is not niche anymore.
Gaming is not only for the students and the unemployed its a big industry now toe to toe with the big boy& girls of entertainment. All ages show and can come from any part of society.
To me games are to escape the daily stress ,blast me stress away

What would it hurt if these episodes where still in???
People that wanted or could see the show done them ,so what is the real deal ?
People could record the show and look when they wanted funny that old fashion media is more flexible than a AAA game.
If it had a real reason other than an artificial way to force a connection to a series that is already filmed whole season 1 before the first episode got on the air i would accept it.

Sorry to me it feels not right ,it feels like someone took my stuff it ain't true but it feels like it .

I rest my case ,i apologize i see my interest in the game slipping and that feels bad ,not only for the cash...
I care about the game more than kissing up with Trion , I do like them a lot but i need to give honest feedback.

    Feel very free to disagree

kill this thread already it was only 4 missions that barely gave any information on the show and it even was pointed out all the info provided through them was in the pilot. This whole thread over 4 missions what a waste of space . Like several other people said they warned everyone even some posted pics of it. Logically if they say finish them before 15th means they are going to remove them on the 15th and they don't need to specify a time on the removal when it says right in the message finish before the 15th. The 4 missions are not even a huge piece of content they were so extremely minor that they are easily dismissible. I honestly completed them and forgot all about them till they posted their page of how the missions actually tied into the show. You guys argue like someone took a very small bite out of your pie to taste it and now you want that little piece back after they already chewed it up and swallowed it. You're not missing anything the pilot can tell you everything regarding the story or even watching the missions on youtube. It just seems pathetic to argue "I should be able to play this content that was so minor they removed it from the game". Before even continuing the argument wait till they confirm if they are going to re-release the content after the season is over then if they don't continue this thread. Otherwise if they do re-release the content it would make the whole argument about you guys being entitled to play it now completely void.

I know some have already contacted them regarding the question but they haven't said they are re-releasing them and they have yet to say they aren't re-releasing them so sit tight.

but one thing i cant understant, this game does not have that much content, and yes we get atleast 5 dlc's this year, and weekly new missions but then think it over again, we do get new missions every week but we also lose the new ones from the last week so will this game add more (note more not new) content except the dlcs's?

I did all the quests in time (multiple occasions actually with disposable training chars too) yet I still vote with the OP about keeping them in game. I see no reason why they have been removed show aired already or not. Well, I'm afraid thou that due to Trion's original idea they won't put them back into the game even if this thread grows fat like a hulker...

What ppl who have missed it lost:
    - crappy loot (it WAS crappy)
    - outfits
    - pew pew
As for the story experience or insights? You can probably watch them on youtube.
Now, while the crappy loot isn't much of a loss, the outfit of two MAJOR characters...? Well... Even I would like to have them in the future on my other chars probably. If you guys at Trion reading this (prolly not), you should at least give a chance to obtain the uniforms in a form of a pursuit or something.
    Just my two cents...

PS: I know that keeping episode missions ingame might mess up the timeline and the map. But if you see only the very FIRST and the LAST, problem solved. If you want to see the others you gonna have to do the first to unlock the them. Those new players who want to see them all can do it from the very beginning, those interested only in the current events can do the current (last). Problem solved for everyone. Have a cookie.

Missions in San Francisco for the episode 1 & 2 suck for people who do not play 100 hours per week, because San francisco is locked if you don't have finished the game.

Uh, people that wanted to were able to reach San Francisco in like six hours of gameplay. And the mission episodes for episode one didn't even go there.

But I'm sure hyperbole means you're right.

I did all the quests for the prequel with both my characters but I still agree that content should not be removed. I said it before and I'll repeat it, it's a bad business idea. Anyone who will want to create any new race added later will be missing any of the episodic content.

As a player who likes to play with every aspect of a game, yes I'm a completionist, I will play as many races, styles, genres, skill sets, lifestyles of the weird and not so friendly, or whatever the game wants to call their "class that isn't a class". If it takes me 4, 8, or 48 characters I will do this.

I like to spend money on games, I have around 250 on Steam alone, I buy collectors editions including this game, I buy the weird odd stuff they sell, heck I own Chaoseater (and not foam copy, a metal alloy) and Death's Mask from DS2, in a nutshell, I spend money. I've already spent money here too, though atm I'm trying to find out whats up with the Defiance cards because they only gave me 2000 bits and no lockbox for the four $25 cards I just turned in.

If they expect me to keep spending money there is one thing I want, content. I don't want to spend money for non DLC content (I already pre ordered the DLC and had my hat robbed and replaced with a copy of glasses I already had) then I do not want to find that my new characters will be forced to start missing storyline content, items, clothing, or titles just because Trion hadn't started giving/selling access to these races before the episodes ran out.

Maybe we are worrying for nothing, but then maybe we have something to really worry about, the base problem is that we haven't been told what will happen with these episodes. Someone from Trion needs to either come in and tell us that 1: We have no worry, episodes will not be removed. or 2: That they will plant their foot up someone's backside for coming up with such a hairbrained and hated idea. or 3: That off season they will run "reruns" of episodic content for us so we can finish with these and future characters (there I just gave your corporate an out, take it and make it so).

I must admit I become increasingly mad at this topic.

Once again: The statement that every player got a warning in the launcher regarding the episodic missions several days ago is FALSE. For days, the only thing I had to be read was "Welcome to defiance!" which changed the first time with implementing the status boosts and second with the patch notice. Posting pictures of the warning shows only that the player taking the picture was warned, but nothing else. Thankfully I now know what I should have read, but it was not there. NEVER.

Besides, it's not the point. These missions are no "reward" for the human playing since release but for the player character that has been played ever since. Every character created after the removal of the missions won't have any chance of getting access to this content. And there are numerous reasons for doing so, one of them being that in the future additional races are announced.

    Further problematic:

The game still is far away from being in a state it could be enjoyed bugfree. As the OP stated, there are players who started anew because the game of their character was messed up. Sending support tickets is not the solution, because tickets take days to weeks for an answer, furthermore the ticket system itself is bugged. You can't say if the original sent ticket has been read or the crippled version the game shows you afterwards.

Additionally several bugs lengthen game time. Missions have to be repeated, downtime because of Patches, Server crashes and so on. This does not mean that you can't manage to complete those missions in time. But in every case it is not a wise move to implement time limits while players can't play the desired time. Ironically Trion realized that problematic in terms of the status boosts, but not with the missions.

Then, if you make content that gets cut in short time from the game, you should make sure the game offers a degree of content so that a casual player never runs out of it. Defiance is nowhere near that state. Even games that were - like WoW - preferred offering seasonal events instead of never returning content. Hell, they even reused older content to make it playable for a broader audience although it was clear from the beginning that such content was for power players. And even in that cases where they couldn't regain such content by any means, it concerned only titles and other useless stuff. But not story plots, cinematics or outfits that couldn't regained elsewhere.

But what really pisses me off, is the reaction of the community.
A player who can't do the missions anymore, loses on content.
A player who did the missions loses absolutely nothing. Neither will he encounter the missions ever again nor will he lose anything only because other players have gained the respective rewards or experienced the same story as well. The aggressive tone that some apply is pure selfish and egocentric. And to top all of this, those being excluded from content are recommended to enjoy that content in youtube - instead of the game they actually paid for. There isn't even a subscription fee older players could justify more content with, IF it would be player and not game character based.

People asking me if they should buy defiance get answered only one thing:
"Don't buy it unless you get it cheaper. It's full of bugs and already stripped of content. No reason for paying the same price while getting less than others."

    Very well then. Flame on!
