I don't understand why my weapon skills aren't increasing. Honestly it's the only thing at this point that makes me dislike the game.
I know that if a weapon has maxed itself out that your weapon skill itself will not increase if you continue to use it. With that knowledge I've been using a different weapon of the same skill and my levels are still not moving up in the slightest.
If anyone knows what the hell is going on I'd appreciate it
You also dont get weapon skill in arkfalls. that might be whats happening.

Thank you for contacting us regarding Defiance.
I do apologize for any confusion caused when trying to increase your weapon skill with a specific weapon that is already max level. The experience for a specific weapon type(Assault Rifles, Infectors, Pump Shotguns) can only be increased by the total amount of experience available to the specific weapon you are using. Once this specific weapon reaches it's max level it will no longer provide experience to the overall weapon skill but some weapons will provide combat bonuses for having achieved max level. You can locate this by opening your Inventory window and selecting the appropriate weapon. Once you have selected the weapon in question you will find the experience bar in the stat readout for the weapon on the right side of the window. Your weapon skill will increase again once you equip a non-max level weapon of the same type.

I have yet to do any arkfalls. I'm still pretty new. My EGO rating is only 180 something. All I have done is story, episode and side missions as well as the occasional guard mission you come across.
I honestly think maybe something is bugged for me I don't know. I leveled Assault Rifles to 4 really quick, then got 3 bars into 4 and no matter what Assault Rifle I use, or no matter how long I use it it doesn't budge.
Thanks. As I said though, I'm aware you won't gain xp in the weapon skill if the weapon itself is maxed. This is stopping me from gaining XP no matter what weapon I use.
Are you positive you're getting nothing? Because around 4 or so weapon leveling does slow down quite a bit.
I was having the same issue, it was affecting my lmg skill. That seems to have fixed itself (Lvl 4 to 5 took a long time!) but now my Assault rifle skill seems stuck. I will continue using them and see what happens. It just seems a waste of the +10% bonus at the moment though!
the same thing happens to me, with an UNmaxed out weapon my weapon skill does not increase most all the time. i took an assault rifle to level 12 then the rifle maxed and when i switched out to a different assault rifle my experience bar in assault rifle skill hasnt budged since. this was a completely new assault rifle that had 0 exp on it. its now half way to max and my skill has still not budged
