Live Stream Was Useless

Yea, I'm really starting to think the game was only for a boost of income cuz they seemed to have just dropped everything. They started by releasing a game with so many bugs I might as well call Terminex to their building, then just allowing the game to continually delete our hard earned content aka time(Nolan's AR for 1 of the many examples), and THEN lie straight at us saying a big April 15 patch release(even by their time now it is already Apr 16, no patch in sight). If Trion hit a snag, that's what twitter is for, to tell us "sorry we hit a snag, patch wont be up as soon as we thought" but what do they say "hey check out our show!" and not a damn thing else! This really pisses me off to say the least. Why not just steal my wallet and toss me a dollar menu burger then slap me in the face and walk off. In a nutshell, that's basically what they're doing. I give them money, they give me some piece of ****, then they lie to my face and then nothing.

I think you guys are missing the point here. The stream was an attempt to bring show watchers over to become game players. It was advertised during the show, linked through defiance.com, and linked on the show facebook page. There are people who follow the show but not the game that came to the chat and participated.

It wasn't meant for us directly. We've already joined the party. Every move the DEFI crew makes doesn't revolve around us but expanding the brand and fanbase. As of right now, there are 3 streams and the gamers have 2 of them dedicated to them. How painful is it that 1 is dedicated to the show? My wife enjoyed the show and watched the stream. She thought it was pretty cool.

I will admit that the stream was a bit shallow but being that they were trying not to spoil the show for later time zones, I can understand somewhat. I think that they are going to have to make some concessions somewhere along the way to make sure that they are able to make the stream a little bit more interesting to a larger audience. Which the ubernerds, aka me, will hate.

I love this game, but totally agree that was a terribly hyped livestream that was pointless.

As for that "exclusive" new trailer, that was borderline insulting. It's a bullshot trailer in every respect: nothing from the game looks like that, and many of the outfits they had on their "ark hunters" aren't even available ingame.

The softball questions were so weak I'm left to assume something went horribly wrong with the patch and PR is scrambling to keep things from exploding.

No offense, but you guys sound bitter, whiney, and ungrateful. They answered multiple questions including "how long do the current episode missions last." They had some behind the scenes interviews, then they gave away FIVE copies of the game. They announced the new episode missions and then promised to do a stream every week.

Yet all you can say is "this is useless they didn't answer my own personal questions"?

When is the patch coming / when are you going to fix x, y, or z aren't even good questions. You seriously can't wait a day or two for a patch?

The fact they had audio problems means it's more likely to be happening live.

This game is not charity. Trion has no reason to expect my gratitude, and I have no reason to offer it unless I feel they have delivered a product that exceeds the already high expectations they themselves set with Rift.

They have not succeeded in that in terms of depth, complexity, content, or quality.

If I seem bitter, it's because at one time I could offer the highest compliment to Trion-- I would buy their product with the assurance I would be purchasing a fully-realized, well-designed game from day one. They have absolutely failed to deliver a complete game, let alone a fully functional game.

They have continued to botch things up by showing weak communication (as seen by the weak questions tonight) and poor continued support-- both things Trion was an industry leader with in their previous release.

It sounds like I'm damning them with praise, but I had every reason to expect more from Trion.

Then why are you even watching the stream? It is obviously intended for people who are excited about the game / show.

Considering how people on this forum have reacted when the big patch got postponed I'm not surprised they didn't want to touch talking about dates for anything. I sure as hell wouldn't.
